Dog training that builds trust!
I’ve had the privilege of working with hundreds of dogs in a NY rescue group. I’ve trained animals with a variety of problematic behaviors like reactivity, separation anxiety, guarding behaviors, basic leash manners, begging/jumping, puppy training, and more. Each dog is an individual and needs a training plan that both works for them, but that also fits into your lifestyle. This is where I come in to help you to better understand your dog’s behavior and help them be more comfortable in their home environment. We’ll meet your dog’s needs which will lead to a happier, healthier dog.

What to expect
Consultation
First we’ll discuss your training goals. For a puppy or new dog in the home; we’ll discuss things like an elimination location, pen, crate, pads, and setting up a workable schedule for you and the dog. For other training goals like working on reactivity or separation anxiety, we’ll discuss the context in which those are occurring and how it’s showing up in the dog’s body and their behaviors. We’ll next discuss ways to manipulate the environment and/or the dog’s schedule, in order to manage or modify the behavior. I’ll address your concerns and take your dog’s needs and abilities into account.
Sessions
My first session will include implementing the set up and schedule we discussed during our consultation. For a new dog, we’ll work on setting up the pen, crate, pads, and whatever else we have to work with; in the best location in the home. I’ll begin working on whatever cues we discussed using…sit, stay, come, touch, leave it/drop it, heel, down, go to spot, and more. For other behavior goals, I’ll observe the behaviors and begin to manage or modify using the tools discussed in our consult. I’ll also leave you with exercises to do between my sessions.
More info
Are you stressing over your dog’s behavior? Would you like to feel more confident in your ability to manage them? I employ Fear Free Shelters 3 M’s for problem behaviors. Motivation, management, and modification. First, we will identify the motivation for the behavior. Next, we will begin managing the behavior by manipulating the environment, id triggers, and using tools like treats/toys. And last, we will determine how to modify the behavior. We will create positive emotional associations w/positive responses to be substituted for the negative or undesirable behaviors.

I’m currently working part time. This will help me to fit sessions into your existing schedule or routine. It’s important that we find a way to fit training into your schedule, so I try to be flexible with my clients. I’m new to offering these services on Rover, but not new to training. I’ll try to work around your schedule as much as possible.
