Dog training can be fun!
I'm a graduate of CATCH Canine Trainers Academy, a part-time trainer at Mindful Pups, and I have 15+ years as a professional educator of humans (kids and adults). I love teaching and supporting dogs and I truly enjoy coaching dog parents with various levels of knowledge, skills, and learning styles. I'll meet you exactly where you are at--geographically, emotionally, and within the reality of your day-to-day life. I offer compassionate, interactive accountability & support structures so you can meet your training goals, feel proud of the work you've done together, and have fun while doing it!

What to expect
Consultation
I offer a free 15-20 min phone consultation to learn a bit more about what you're looking for. If it's a good fit and you decide to move forward, our first in-person meeting will be 90 mins in your home and neighborhood. I'll observe your dog in your everyday environment. We'll chat about your history and goals and I'll make initial recommendations. Then we'll jump right into our first 60 training session together. Afterwards, I'll follow up with an individualized and detailed training plan created just for you and your pup. This initial 90 min session is $275.
Sessions
We'll jump right into learning how dogs learn, what skills you can build to support your dog, and work hands-on together to get your dog off to the best start possible. I welcome dog parents (and family members) to join any/all sessions they would like to participate in, however, I require a minimum participation of the first and last sessions. Supporting our dogs takes commitment and growth on our end of the leash as well, so we will figure out a realistic and flexible learning and practice schedule to fit your lifestyle between sessions.
More info
My approach centers building and strengthening the relationship between you and your dog while creating a safe and more easeful day-to-day reality for you as a team. I use science-backed behavioral theory and positive reinforcement methods. I'll show you how to use play to build your dog's skill and increase trust and confidence. My training philosophy is trauma-informed, systems-based, and holistic, which means I take into account the whole dog and the specific realities and environment(s) you navigate together.
