Caring, Personalized Training
With 20+ years of certified dog training experience, I bring patience, expertise, and a passion for helping dogs and their people with their training needs. Whether you have a playful puppy, an adult dog needing guidance, or a fearful pup requiring extra care, I tailor my approach to meet your dog's unique needs. My specialties include building confidence in dogs and owners, assisting with behavior modification, with a goal of success all around. I use positive methods to create a fun and supportive environment to strengthen the bond between you and your furry friend.

What to expect
Consultation
Initial consultations are typically longer and are a mix of behavior assessment and training. I like to connect over phone or email first (your preference) to discuss your dog’s needs, your concerns, and your training goals. If you choose to move forward, the initial consult will include an assessment of your dog’s behavior, personalized training recommendations addressing your top 3-5 concerns (time dependent), and a plan with next steps to achieve your goals. You’ll have ample time to ask questions, share any worries, as I want you to feel as confident as possible about the journey ahead.
Sessions
During our training sessions, we’ll address your dog’s behavior challenges step by step, focusing on 1-2 issues per session, depending on their complexity. I’ll start by demonstrating effective, positive training techniques tailored to your dog’s needs, then guide you through practicing them to ensure you feel confident. There’s always plenty of time for questions during and after sessions to support your progress. Between sessions, I’ll provide manageable training exercises to work on until our next meeting.
More info
Since 2004, I’ve been professionally dedicated to pet care and dog training, earning my CPDT-KA certification in 2019. I use LIMA (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive) methods paired with positive reinforcement, which I’ve found to be the most sustainable for long-term success. These approaches create positive associations with training and foster a joyful, trusting bond with your dog. I always like to compare it to our own school days and how a great teacher and/or fun subject would make the class easier and enjoyable. When training is a fun it becomes a win-win for you and your pup!
