Better Dog - Better Home Life!
My goal is to communicate with your dog and to understand his or her needs. I work with dogs that have general anxiety, dogs with separation anxiety, and all of the anxieties in between (reactivity, fear of strangers, fear of the car, etc). I start where it is most comfortable for your dog and we work at their pace. My training is not cookie cutter, not one-size fits all. I always think of the dog, the owner, and myself as a team. We work as a team to gain positive results. We find a better dog and get a better home life.

Consultation
Prior to our consultation, I will ask you to complete a short questionnaire. I'd like to learn as much as I can prior to our meeting. This will give me the opportunity to focus on what you would like me to train your do to do. We work as a team. We will discuss what issues you are currently having, how long they have been going on, and what you would like to see change. The consultation is about 1 hour in length but can occassionally run over that.
Sessions
At our first session, I teach your dog to look at you (focus) and to touch your hand when asked. I find that most dogs frustrate owners byt not paying attention. We will then jump into the skills your dog needs to be successful. For instance; if your dog has a fear of strangers we will discuss why this is and I will teach you about desensitization. This is how I help dogs to overcome their fears. I use high value treats such as cooked chicken, cut up very small, as rewards. Dogs love them and learn quickly. I bring these to the first session. We always review the behavior when we meet again.
More info
Your dog is a part of your family. A better dog creates a better home life for everyrone. Your dog will be trained using scientificially proven methods. Positive Reinforcement (reward system) is the quickest way to a happy dog and great results. The principle we use with children, eat your broccoli and you will get some ice cream works just as well with dogs. If you sit and look at me, good things will happen. Dogs love to please us. If we keep it fun for them, they don't even think of it as training.
