Knowledgeable and patient
As an avid learner, I’m constantly expanding my knowledge my goal is to bring that knowledge directly to you! In addition to my GoodPup Certification, I’m actively working toward two other certifications in Behavior Adjustment and Predation Substitution. Unlike many other trainers in the area, I do not stick to a single rigid methodology insistent on the animal conforming to the training style. I believe in adapting our training to what works best for you and your dog. I love a challenge and an opportunity to problem-solve, so if something isn’t working, we’ll try something else!

What to expect
Consultation
In a typical consultation, we’ll go over the goals you have for you and your dog, what you’ve previously tried, and what has and hasn’t been working and begin outlining a potential plan to move forward. During our in-person consultation, we will likely begin training that day!
Sessions
A typical session includes lots of hands on coaching and games. I believe in focusing on building up the relationship between handler and dog so you can move forward from our sessions with confidence in your own abilities. We don’t want your dog only listening and responding to me— I want you to feel confident you can move forward!
More info
I grew up with my dog training grandmother, who believed in connection deeply rooted in homesteading and land/animal stewardship. Following in her footsteps, I am a force-free trainer and rely on positive reinforcement over punitive approaches to reshaping behavior. The most important part of dog training is building a foundation of trust for future communication between you and your dog. This can be accomplished through treat-based, play-based, and praise-based rewards. The goal is to teach your dog that good things come from you and following you will bring more good.

I currently petsit and dog walk in addition to training, but am typically free in the evenings. My schedule is flexible and I’m able to accommodate most times of day with some notice.
