Behavioral Consultant & Trainer
I’m an IAABC-certified Dog Behavior Consultant, a multi-certified professional dog trainer, and a Pet CPR & First Aid Instructor, giving me a level of behavioral and safety knowledge that goes beyond typical training services. I’ve worked overseas handling and training explosives-detection canines—experience that taught me to read dogs with precision, stay composed under pressure, and build training plans that are clear, fair, and effective. I specialize in understanding why a dog is doing a behavior, not just addressing the surface symptoms.

What to expect
Consultation
During our first consultation, I take time to get to know you, your dog, and your goals. I start by asking about your dog’s history, daily routine, behavior concerns, and what you’d like to improve. I observe your dog’s body language, their response to new people, and how they interact with you and the environment. This helps me understand the “why” behind their behavior so I can tailor an effective training plan.
Sessions
During each training session, I focus on clear, practical skill-building tailored to your dog’s needs and your goals. I begin by checking in on how things have gone since our last session, reviewing any homework, and answering your questions. Then we move into hands-on training, working step-by-step through the behaviors or behavior-modification plan we’re focusing on that day.
More info
My training philosophy is rooted in science-based, humane methods that prioritize clarity, communication, and each dog’s emotional well-being. I follow LIMA principles meaning I always choose the least stressful, most effective strategies to help dogs learn. Because I’m an IAABC-certified Dog Behavior Consultant, a multi-certified professional dog trainer, and a former overseas working-dog handler, my approach is both evidence-based and real-world practical. I tailor every training plan to the individual dog, factoring in temperament, motivation, environment, and past learning history.
