Good Manners & Happy Tails
I have been working with dogs for over 25 years and offer training for puppies and dogs of all ages, breeds, mixes, and backgrounds starting as early as a few days or a week before or after you bring your puppy or adopted dog home, and at any stage of your dog’s life. My training plans are tailored for each dog individually, and I use only positive reinforcement techniques. I offer an enriching experience that facilitates learning, and also factors in a dog’s wellbeing, life stage, and abilities to help them maintain ideal behaviors with lasting outcomes for happy dogs and happy clients.

What to expect
Consultation
For the initial consultation, we will meet virtually over Zoom for about 30 minutes to discuss your dog’s background, personality traits, health, and your goals for ideal behavior and for manners inside and outside the home. We’ll go over any concerning behavior, such as anxiety, barking, food aggression, leash-pulling, or adapting to their new home. We'll also discuss what's working or isn’t, what cues they do know, and what you’d like to improve upon. We will then schedule an in-person training evaluation where I'll meet you, your pup, and family.
Sessions
At our first session, I’ll observe your dog's current behavior and interactions with their environment. We’ll review your goals, concerns, and discuss your lifestyle, daily routine, and any activities or outings you’d like to be able to do with your dog. We’ll go over my initial impressions, and I'll suggest some first steps. Then, I'll create a plan that is tailored for you and your dog, balancing your dog’s abilities and well-being with your goals, routine, and lifestyle. I'll explain what to expect based on their breed, age, personality, and their overall health.
More info
I will provide you with the tools, guidance, and support you need to ensure a great outcome for both you and your dog by building a foundation for lasting success, using positive reinforcement techniques. I often get asked if age matters for training… it doesn’t! While our older friends and adopted dogs may need a little more patience, practice, and time, they can absolutely learn new things! As someone who grew up with dogs and has had four of my own, what I can offer as a trainer is a great love for animals, lots of patience, persistence, and over 25 years of experience working with dogs.
