What to expect
Consultation
Preparation for a consultation includes getting information about your family, dog, history, and priorities. I will visually assess dog while discussing a training plan. I will send you the plan for your review and approval before each session. There are usually 2-5 goals for each day.
Sessions
After consulting with the client, I will prepare a lesson plan, including goals, training activities, and home practice expectations which I send in advance. The client is expected to have at least two different training treats to get started. You will eventually wean them off treats as a reinforcement, but treats work best for most dogs to get them started. Families should work together for consistency and to reinforce training between official sessions.
More info
I work with pet parents to create a plan based on their individual needs and priorities. I used positive reinforcement methods. I can also work over zoom, especially with parents of new puppies.

Availability
I’m very busy with regular clients Monday-Thursday, so I prefer to train on Fridays and Saturdays. Afternoons may be available. Training sessions via Zoom are another option. They work especially well for work with puppies and for clients who live farther away. They can also be recorded for your use and review.
