I can train seals, 2nd LTs, & dogs!
I started my career as an Air Force officer, then worked as a zoo keeper for 5 years. I got to see the power of positive reinforcement training up close during that time, and I learned a lot about the science involved. I’ve always loved dogs so in 2022 I decided to pursue a certification in dog training. Since then, I’ve worked both as an in-home trainer tackling behavioral issues, and at Zoom Room Overland Park (Kansas City area) teaching group classes in dog sports, CGC prep, and dog fitness. I can help with behavioral problems, or find a hobby to keep your pup happy and healthy!

What to expect
Consultation
During your consultation we’ll talk about your dog’s history so I can get an idea of their background and daily routine and their overall health and training to date. We’ll also talk a lot about your goals and how I can help. I want to make sure I’m the right fit for you, so we will also talk about expectations such as how homework I’ll recommend after our training sessions together. After our consultation, I’ll put together a training plan and we’ll schedule our first training session where the fun really begins!
Sessions
In your first session we will hit the ground running! I typically introduce the mechanics of clicker training right away so you and your dog both understand the rules. Then we’ll start tackling the goals we laid out in our consultation. I’ll discuss the training plan for each goal, demonstrate the first steps, and have you practice a few times to get comfortable. We’ll have time for questions and to course-correct, I want to make sure our training plan is realistic for you! After the training session, we’ll write down the homework for that week and schedule our next training session.
More info
My training philosophy is to work with you to find positive reinforcement solutions that work for you and your dog in the real world. I believe a happy, healthy dog needs to have their mental and physical needs met, and training is an important way to meet those needs while also building the relationship and trust between you and your dog.
