"Science + compassion = results!"
My unique combination of scientific expertise, veterinary experience, and hands-on shelter work in Mississippi. My graduate research in operant conditioning taught me how health conditions directly affect learning speed and behavior. Years as a veterinary technician sharpened my ability to spot subtle medical issues most trainers overlook. I use this knowledge to create truly effective, compassionate training plans. Having successfully rehabilitated hundreds of shelter dogs with positive reinforcement only, I deliver results that are both scientifically sound and deeply humane.

What to expect
Consultation
During a typical consultation (30-45 minutes, in-person), I gather a detailed history of your dog’s behavior issues, daily routine, medical background, and your training goals. I observe your dog’s body language and current interactions with you. Please have your dog present and bring any relevant medical records. You may be asked to show how you normally handle certain situations. After the consultation, you’ll receive a customized training plan with specific next steps and exercises. Many clients begin training sessions right away. I also provide ongoing support to ensure success.
Sessions
A typical training session is focused on one or two behaviors at a time in a low-stress environment. Using positive reinforcement, I guide you on perfect timing, clear cues, and reading your dog’s body language. You actively train your dog during the session with my real-time feedback. Between sessions you’ll receive simple, daily homework (10-15 minutes per day). I send detailed notes and video demonstrations to help you practice successfully at home. Progress is tracked closely and your plan is adjusted as your dog improves. Clear results usually appear within the first 2–3 sessions.
More info
My philosophy is grounded in proven science and real-world compassion. Every dog can thrive when we communicate clearly, build trust, and apply positive reinforcement based on B.F. Skinner’s operant conditioning principles. My approach is informed by graduate research on how illness impacts learning and years working as a veterinary technician. I use positive reinforcement only — high-value rewards, praise, and play. Plans are fully customized to your dog’s age, history, energy, and medical needs. No force, no fear, no dominance. This creates happy, confident dogs and strong family bonds.
