Polite Happy Dog Training
I have been training dogs and horses since I was about 17 years old and currently volunteer with Sunshine Big Dog Rescue. I obtained professional certification as a dog trainer in 2023. With an educational background in Psychology and Education/Training, I understand how both dogs and people learn best. My goal is to teach people to teach their dogs to behave politely and enhance the relationship between pets and people.

What to expect
Consultation
During our initial consultation, I will ask you to describe your dog's current behaviors, any problem areas that you would like to address, and your goals for the training. Based on the information you provide, we will be able to discuss and agree upon the number of training sessions needed and who in your household will be participating in the training.
Sessions
In our first session, I will observe you interacting with your dog... how you give commands, how your dog responds, etc. We will begin with basic commands like Sit, Stay, Come while the dog is on leash. I will work with your dog, and I will observe/instruct as you work with your dog. This will be a time to let you and your dog experience success on the leash.

I provide Positive Reinforcement training and follow the Least Intrusive Minimally Aversive approach. I never use force, fear, or physical punishment to get a dog to perform a behavior. Our dogs want to please us, and when we make good behavior rewarding for them, they will happily and willingly comply.
