A better relationship with your dog
I am a retired psychiatrist and use a lot of the same principles of behavioral modification With dogs as I did with my medical practice. I don’t like the idea of a cookie cutter approach when it comes to training, as each dog is an individual. Aside from a degree in medicine, I also have a degree in animal science, where I studied behavior and training.

What to expect
Consultation
A typical consultation involves discussing what you would like to work on with your dog. I will look at what your experience level is, what your strengths are with respect to working with your dog, what your expectations are, and what you have done so far with respect to training. I will also evaluate your dog with respect to behavior, level of maturity, temperament, and what motivates them. I will also observe the dynamic that exists between you and your dog at baseline. Together we will work on a training plan based on your needs, and your dog’s abilities.
Sessions
Expect to be working with your dog during training sessions, starting from day one, as we will pick your first training goal and begin working on it. Between sessions, you will be expected to work on training a little each day. In subsequent sessions we will look at how you have progressed and add new goals as old ones are achieved.
More info
I train force free. I do not use aversive tools at all in my training, as I believe that force free training develops a deeper relationship between dog and owner. I offer training solutions that are designed to motivate dogs in a positive way, encouraging them to make good choices about how they respond to both their owners and the world around them.
