Behavior is communication!
Having started my work at the Humane Society working with making dogs more adaptable, I have a soft spot for more mature dogs who need some extra time and patience to re-learn positive behaviors.

Consultation
For consultations, I ask that pet parents come with details regarding which behaviors are happening and what they have tried in the past. I like to know day to day schedules and how the family operates and interacts with their fur family, as well as notes such as allergies, high motivation rewards, and anything else to know like mobility issues, pain, etc.
Sessions
Dog's do well with short bursts of training with reps built in throughout the day - every part of their routine can be a training opportunity! The first session will be a lot of discussion, meet and greet, and explaining key things to watch for like signs of fatigue and anxiety when the training is too much and ineffective. We'll craft a game plan that works best for the family and schedule. Usually I will work with the dog in 5-10 minutes intervals broken up with play and rest to allow them time to reset!
More info
I use a fear free certified, high-motivation reward system based on intervals of training broken up with games and play. From puppies to gray-in-the-face, I believe all dogs are capable of learning better ways of communicating effectively with their owners.

Availability
I work a full-time job as the state's braille librarian which requires me to be in Salem on Wednesdays and Fridays. Otherwise I am typically flexible enough to make something work! I prefer mornings and afternoons versus evenings.
