Science-based, ethological approach
Within my professional training and years of experience with dogs, I take an ethological approach. That means I take your dog’s behavior seriously, paying close attention to their signs of fear, anxiety, and stress. It also means using their behavior as information to help formulate a unique behavior modification plan for you, so you know how to help them. So they can thrive!

What to expect
Consultation
Consultations typically last 60 minutes. I do not need to actually see your pet’s specific behavior to make an assessment and determine if we need to meet in person! So let’s talk a bit first. Although, if you prefer to meet in person, typically these sessions last about 90 minutes (+$75) and will also incorporate a small training session. During our consultation, we will go over your pet’s history, the concerns you have and what your goals are. I can help you understand some of the reasons your pet might be exhibiting their specific behaviors, and explain some of the learning theory.
Sessions
After a consultation, we will plan an in-person session to go over technique in more detail, so you can utilize methods at home that make a difference in your dog’s behavior every day. All in-person sessions include a written report and a behavior modification plan to help you move forward with your goals. If your behavior concerns are related to leash manners and reactivity, weekly reoccurring sessions booked through my sitter profile (at $75 per hour) are recommended for dog parents who completed a leash walking consultation and are actively maintaining healthy leash habits.
More info
I use evidence-based training techniques to get lasting results for you and your dog! Science shows that using aversive tools and methods can cause increased anxiety and aggression in our pets. My certification from UW in applied animal behavior makes me well equipped with techniques and knowledge to help you and your puppy figure out a plan to work towards co-existing. Dogs need our help to learn appropriate social skills and how to be safe in a human-centered world.
