What to expect

Consultation

Your consultation will be an hour long and we will discuss your dog's history, previous owners, incidents, etc. This will help give me a better idea of what you would like to work on as well as more information about your pup and their individual personality! After the consultation, I will email you a recap of what we discussed as well as what I think is a good training plan. If you decide to move forward, I will email you a liability form and a photo/video release form and we can schedule a time for your first lesson!

Sessions

Typically in your home

Typical sessions are an hour long. We will work on behaviours discussed during our consultation. I will demonstrate, then let you take the lead! Each session, I typically work on one or two of the behaviors we discussed. I will take notes and pictures, then send a recap of what we worked on so that you can go back and refer to it during the week if needed.

Positive Reinforcement

As a CCPDT certified dog trainer, it is my responsibility to abide by LIMA (least intrusive, minimally aversive) and ensure no harm comes to any dog I train. Because of this, I do not accept any cases in which a client would like to use choke chains, shock collars, balanced training or any other aversive technique/equipment. Positive reinforcement is scientifically proven to be the most successful method of training and has always been my preferred approach. Just like humans, all dogs learn differently so I do my best to use techniques catered to your dog's needs.
