Reactive & Anxious Dog Training
I’m a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) specializing in working with reactive, anxious, and easily overstimulated dogs, especially on walks and in everyday environments. I focus on setting dogs up for success by working at a distance they can handle, rather than pushing them into situations that overwhelm them. Sessions are practical and tailored to your dog, with clear guidance so you know exactly what to do between sessions. I also include video and explanation so you can see the work in action and feel confident continuing it on your own.

What to expect
Consultation
Consultations are typically about 30 minutes. We’ll spend time talking through your dog’s behavior, your goals, and what you’re currently seeing at home and on walks. I’ll ask questions to understand your dog’s routines, environment, and the situations that are most challenging. I’ll also share initial guidance and suggest ways we can approach training based on your goals. No preparation is required, but it’s helpful to have a general idea of the behaviors you’d like to address.
Sessions
Training sessions are typically about 30 minutes and focus on real-life situations your dog is experiencing. Sessions may take place in your home or during walks, depending on what we’re working on. I’ll work directly with your dog while recording video and explaining what we’re doing so you can understand the process and continue the work on your own. Between sessions, I’ll outline specific exercises and next steps to practice as part of your daily routine.
More info
I use a force-free, positive reinforcement approach focused on helping dogs feel more comfortable and confident in situations that are difficult for them. Rather than correcting behavior, I focus on understanding why it’s happening and changing how the dog feels. When a dog feels safer and less overwhelmed, they’re better able to make calm, appropriate choices. My goal is to create lasting change by building more stable, reliable responses in real-life situations.
