What to expect

Consultation

During your consultation, we’ll review your dog’s behavior, training goals, and a recommendation for the number of sessions needed to achieve those goals. I will observe your dog’s body language, reactions, and current skill level, while also learning about your daily routines and challenges. Together, we’ll create a personalized training plan that fits both your dog’s needs and your lifestyle, ensuring progress feels manageable and rewarding for you both.

Sessions

Typically in your home

A typical session is hands-on, engaging, and tailored to your dog’s individual needs. We’ll start with a quick check-in to see how things have been going at home, then move into focused training exercises that build on what your dog already knows while introducing new skills at a comfortable pace. I’ll demonstrate techniques, coach you through practicing them, and answer your questions along the way. Each session is designed to keep your dog motivated and successful, while giving you the confidence and tools to continue the training in your daily routine.

Positive Reinforcement

My training approach follows the LIMA (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive) principle. That means I focus on positive, science-based methods that respect each dog as an individual while setting them up for success. I prioritize gentle, effective techniques that strengthen the bond between you and your dog, always taking into account your lifestyle and comfort so that the training feels doable, sustainable, and rewarding for everyone.
