Training Dogs by Coaching People
Beyond my work with private clients, I’ve worked with hundreds of shelter dogs facing reactivity, fear, and limited socialization. That experience shaped my steady, structured approach to dog training. I believe many behavior challenges improve when dogs are given appropriate outlets. Time outdoors, especially on a trail, allows dogs to move, decompress, and engage with the world in a more balanced way.
What to expect
Consultation
During your initial consultation, we’ll review your dog’s history, your goals, and any behavior concerns. I’ll assess the situation and develop a clear, step-by-step plan that combines practical management with structured training.
Sessions
The first session is focused on assessment and clarity. I’ll start with observing you and your dog together to understand communication patterns, strengths, and areas for improvement while keeping your goals in mind. From there, I’ll demonstrate the training approach and guide you as you practice. My goal is for you to leave every session with a clear understanding of both the “how” and the “why” behind the work. Between sessions, I’ll send a clear summary so you can continue practicing with structure and confidence.

Experience
My training approach is rooted in modern behavioral science and the Humane Hierarchy framework. I focus on strengthening the relationship between people and their dogs through clear communication, consistency, and reward-based learning. I don’t just train dogs, I coach their parents. My goal is to help you understand your dog’s behavior, set clear expectations, and develop the skills to create lasting change long after our sessions end.
