Consultation
During a consultation we will work together to develop a customized training plan that best fits your family. We’ll discuss your dog and any concerns you may have, your goals for them, and any prior training or relevant history. We’ll also discuss your family’s schedule and realistic time for training. If you have a busy schedule that could benefit from extra help practicing throughout the week, we can do that! If you just need some pointers and then you’re ready to go on your own, we can do that too.
Sessions
Training sessions are as unique as the dogs and families that I work with. Some sessions are skills focused and we’ll be working hands-on with your dog to practice new skills to reach your training goals. Other sessions may focus more on discussions and how to best set your family up for success, especially when planning for a new baby. After each session you’ll receive a written summary and hand outs to support what we covered during the session, as well as guidance for practicing at home and next steps.
More info
Dory teaches group classes and private lessons using science-based, positive reinforcement training methods to improve the dog’s behavior and the relationship between a family and their dog. Dory is a Certified Pet Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) through the CCPDT and a licensed Family Paws Parent Educator (FPPE). She loves to work with new and expecting families as they prepare their dog for life with a baby.
