Dog’s best friend who keeps it fun.
I have an education through CATCH Canine Training Academy, which involved extensive studying, testing, and direct mentorship with an experienced trainer in the field. I’ve also done extensive dog sitting appointments, so I’m more than attuned to the ‘vibe’ a dog is putting out and how best to do things the way they’re comfortable with.

Consultation
The full in-person consultation is sort of a training session in and of itself. It’s best to meet everyone who’s going to be participating, have a sit down with them where the dog is present or at least nearby (depending on aggression/anxiety levels). We’ll talk about what problems you face that require training, develop a game plan, determine the number of sessions necessary to execute on that game plan, and I’ll communicate the basics of the training system to give you an idea what skills and tools we’ll be using going forward.
Sessions
In an average session, we’re hands-on in the room with the dog. I’ll show up with a binder full of the notes I’ve made, and we’ll run through the lesson for the session, adjusting the plan if anything becomes untenable to do for any reason, such as weather conditions or the dog’s energy levels. I’ll lay out the logic behind why we’re doing what we’re doing, then I’ll demonstrate it with the dog, then when I’m sure you’ve understood what’s being done, I’ll have you perform the same training. It’s as important that you know the skills as it is that the dog does!
More info
My training ethos comes from a place starting with positive reinforcement. There’s little that I cannot get done without a harness, a solid leash, some treats, and a good rapport with my dog. I set dogs up for success by rewarding & encouraging good behavior, and I interrupt bad behavior before it can get too far. I’ve also learned how to wait them out, so even stubborn dogs aren’t getting anything past me just because they’re a little tougher nuts to crack.
