"Training Dogs To Be Paw-lite"
I have my own dog training business in which I provide in-home obedience training or help with behavior problems. I believe dogs learn new skills better in their own homes, with no distractions. I also use food rewards to reinforce good behavior.

What to expect
Consultation
At your consultation, I will ask you a series of questions that help me better understand your dog's needs and your training goals for your dog. I will also observe your dog's behavior while we chat.
Sessions
I teach you how to train your dog! You watch as I show you how to elicit your dog to sit, stay, lay down, come, keep "all four on the floor" (no jumping) and how to walk with a loose leash. With regard to behavior issues, I will help you determine what's causing the behavior and work toward changing your dog's response.
More info
I use only positive reinforcement. I highly reward appropriate behavior with treats, praise, affection, play and/or belly rubs and ignore inappropriate behavior, such as jumping, demand barking, pawing, etc. Your dog craves your attention and any behavior your dog does that gets your attention will be repeated. If your dog jumps on you and you laugh, make eye contact with him or push him away, etc., you're giving him attention. Ignoring him when he jumps will communicate to him that you remove your attention when he does this. He'll figure it out and display a more appropriate behavior.
