Fact: A Dog's Owner Needs Training
As a lifetime dog lover and owner, I have attended many obedience classes, dog shows and field trials and have observed good and bad behaviors. I find that life is too short to not have a well-behaved dog. I volunteer as a Puppy Raiser for Canine Companions, where we raise, socialize and train puppies to be future service dogs. The training is extensive for each puppy, lasting 18 months on average before the dog moves into professional advanced training for specific skills with Canine Companions. I can confidently say, that I feel I can help you and your dog become a better team!

What to expect
Consultation
Our first consultation will be to do a brief meet and greet with you and your dog to assess any behavioral issues and goals you'd like to accomplish as a team. We will formulate a game plan and training schedule. All work is done on leash in an enclosed area. Proof of vaccinations is required prior to start of training sessions.
Sessions
Initially, I will observe how the dog reacts to the handler/owner and see what behaviors need to be corrected. Sessions would run 45 minutes so as to keep the dog and owner engaged. We may meet at various locations, such as pet store, fenced park or Home Depot type settings to work on specific training exercises.
More info
My training philosophy is simple - get the dog to trust you first. I train using small training treats for positive reinforcement and use repetitive commands and exercises. I love working with puppies who are food motivated. Most of all, have fun with the dogs and encourage positive behavior.

Availability
My schedule is flexible but the key to successfully training a dog is consistency. It would be important to establish a set training schedule to keep the dog and owner, and trainer, on track.
