A more enjoyable life with your dog
I specialize in reactivity, with an array of games and methods for helping dogs learn how to relax and not overreact. I help you understand what your dog needs, so that you can be the best guardian for them. I also work with all aspects of basic behavior, loose leash walking, and home life. And I can coach you on scent work, rally, agility, and other dog sports.

Consultation
In our initial meeting we will discuss your needs and concerns, and I will ask many questions about your dog’s history. I will give an introduction to my methods, and start you on skills to practice. In subsequent sessions we will build on those skills, for both you and the dog. I will bring treats. Depending on your dog’s needs we can meet in your home, your yard, at a nearby park, walking in the neighborhood, or in my own large fenced yard.
Sessions
In the first consultation I will start you on skills to practice. Afterwards I will email you a summary of our visit, with detailed homework. I will tailor the homework to your abilities and needs, so you should expect to at least try it out between sessions. There is no grading or test though—at each session we start with wherever you and the dog are presently, and build from there.
More info
I study the latest behavior science and ethology, and use positive reinforcement methods. When dogs “misbehave” it’s typically because either they really don’t know what to do, or their needs are not being met. My job is to ensure we meet their needs for enrichment in life, and to help them learn which behaviors we prefer. I also teach agility, scent, and other dog sports skills.
