What to expect

Consultation

During your 20 minute virtual consultation, we will go over your training goals, behavior history, and discuss training options. Proof of vaccinations are required prior to booking in-person session. In order for efficient training planing accurate information about your pet’s behavior history, training history, and current health status needs to be given.

Sessions

Typically in your home

At the beginning we will set everyone up for success by evaluating behavior factors, health factors, and resource needs that will impact training plans. Direction and coaching on management tools and energy outlets will be given to elevate stressful situations. Communication tools and training practices will start your first session. For best progression, following sessions should be scheduled giving you and your family time to practice steps given. Usually a week to two weeks of practice gives enough time depending on the schedule.

Positive Reinforcement

I use reward-based training with a focus on improving well-being. Reward-based training means we set your dog up to do appropriate behaviors and then make those actions the most rewarding. Every behavior that happens more than twice is getting some sort of reward or reinforcement. Whether it's an outlet for pent up energy, getting extra attention, or just giving them what they need to feel safe, they will always choose what they think will be the most beneficial. All creatures have a natural drive to feel safe and again access life’s necessities.
