Newly Certified Dog Trainer
Before I became a dog trainer, canine rescue has always been a passion of mine. Over the course of my life I have rescued and rehabilitated 15 dogs. So I know first hand that every dog is different, they have their own personalities and respond to different styles of teaching. As a trainer I take everything about the dog and their environment into account when forming a training plan. I will also ensure that every single strategy that we use in training can be implemented into your lifestyle as an owner, and reasonably maintained after our time as client and trainer is over.

What to expect
Consultation
Consultations will typically be around 45 minutes. During this time I will observe your dogs behavior and their environment. I will assess your dogs knowledge to determine the best training plan for them. Prior to the appointment I will send you a brief form to fill out so I can have a full picture of your training goals. I will contact you within 72 hours following your consultation appointment to give you a recommendation of how many sessions your dog may need, which can be subject to change based on how consistent guardians are with maintenance training.
Sessions
The first session will start off with some brief bonding between me and your dog to build trust (not counted towards the total time of the session). After building comfortability with the dog I will start forming the behavior we want to see. I will leave a practice sheet with you, and give a detailed tutorial on how to maintain and build on progress as it’s made. The second session will focus on troubleshooting any problems that arise, and making adjustments to the plan so it’s tailored to the needs of your dog. All following sessions will be focused on refining the behavior
More info
Before I begin training a dog I first work to develop a bond with them. Developing a bond and a sense of mutual understanding with the dog sets them up for success in training. I work based off of positive reinforcement and often use skills and behaviors the dog is already successful with as stepping stones to achieve the desired behavior. After capturing that behavior in the dog I work to solidify their understanding. From there I work with guardians on how to maintain the progress made and even build on it long after the training sessions are over.
