Certified K9 Behavior Specialist
What sets me apart is my extensive experience in various fields, including veterinary medicine, shelter and rescue, training and behavior, and husbandry. My diverse background allows me to holistically treat complex behavior problems and provide my clients with long-term solutions, rather than short-term fixes. I am also certified by the leading independent certification organization for dog training and behavior professionals, and recommended by veterinarians, veterinary behaviorists, dog rescues, and shelters.

What to expect
Consultation
During the initial consultation we'll discuss your dog’s behavior, health, history, and environment. For in-home consultations, I will also conduct a behavior evaluation, and depending on the case, a temperament test and risk assessment may be required. After the consultation, I create a holistic game plan to modify your dog’s behavior, meet their individual enrichment needs, and improve their overall well-being.
Sessions
In the first session we implement management strategies to immediately reduce occurance of problematic behavior and the initial steps we’ll take to reach your training goals. Throughout the program, we'll work side by side so you can acquire the skills and tools to maintain your dog's better behavior for life. Additionally, my treatment plans always incorporate enrichment and breed-specific activities to provide a safe outlet for natural behaviors and improve quality of life.
More info
My training philosophy focuses on understanding who each dog is as an individual. Genetic makeup, environment, temperament, health, and history dictate the techniques and interventions used to meet a dog’s unique needs and reach an owner’s specific training goals. My motivational methods create an environment where dogs are excited and eager to learn, and incorporate Operant Conditioning, Classical Conditioning, and Marker/Clicker Training.
