Consultation
The initial consultation will include a complete evaluation of your needs. Then I’ll give you a preliminary management plan and training exercises to start. Depending on my assessment, I may also share video demonstrations with you to be clearer about the exercises. After the first virtual session, we could continue to meet online, or meet in person. My travel range is from South San Jose to Gilroy. I also include detailed written (emailed) reports after each session, usually sent within a couple of days after the session.
Sessions
In a typical training session, we'll first debrief about the exercises that we previously worked on. (Even in the initial consultation, I assign exercises.) Then I'll assess your dog's progress, I'll coach you into next level steps, and modify or give you additional exercises to work on. I will also be available via text/email in between sessions, should you get stuck or have additional questions.
More info
I use only the most modern, science-based, dog-friendly (and people-friendly) training methods. I encourage the use of treats and toys. On the dogs I advocate for the use of flat collars, front-clip and regular harnesses, and fixed-length leashes. I will never recommend harsh corrections nor any prong, choke or shock collars.
