Setting Your Dog Up for Success
My methods are grounded in Applied Behavior Science. I am not only committed to staying current on the most effective techniques, but also becoming your dog's best friend. An engaged dog is a dog ready to learn! Finally, I have been in your shoes. I have had reactive, anxious, fearful, noise sensitive, destructive, high-energy, resource guarding, barking, grooming-intolerant dogs. Let me help you!

What to expect
Consultation
During a consult, I will ask lots of questions about your dog. I will ask about others living in the home. I may ask questions about the layout of your house. I will ask what your goals are and what training you have already tried, if any. I will explain my approach to training and answer any questions or concerns you may have.
Sessions
We will start every lesson by reviewing your homework (or what we discussed at the consult). I will then provide additional assistance if needed, build on the skill, or move to the next goal. Once you and your dog are feeling comfortable with the skill, I will start introducing distractions. I will clearly explain each new exercise and am happy to demonstrate with your dog as well. You will need a standard leash, harness or collar, and lots of high-value treats for each lesson. I find meeting once a week gives owners enough time to do homework while keeping up with the rest of life.
More info
After asking you lots of questions and evaluating your dog, we will make a training plan to teach your dog the desired skills. Until your dog has mastered these skills, I will show you how to better manage living with your dog, preventing him/her from practicing the inappropriate behaviors. We will arrange your environment for success, desensitize daily stressors, and counter condition trigger responses, all without using fear, intimidation, or pain. I will provide you with documented instructions, clear homework goals, and support you every step of the way.

Availability
I'm a full-time trainer, so I'm available 5 days a week. Mornings offer the most availability, but I work straight through the day and offer evening appointments as well.
