Experienced Trainer
I will work with you to teach you about how your dog communicates, and how to shape you dog's behavior to create a well-behaved family member. I have many years of working with my personal dogs and other family dogs and have used those experiences to develop training programs and techniques that emphasize positive reinforcement. I will maintain contact with you to evaluate progress and take necessary corrective steps to address issues that develop.

Consultation
Our initial consultation will last about an hour. I will meet with you and your dog to find out their history with you, what problems you may be having, and what your goals are for them. Then I will provide recommendations on a training plan to meet your goals.
Sessions
During our first session, we typically will meet in your home where there are minimal distractions. I will describe to you what we are doing, how we are going to implement it and then demonstrate the technique on your dog, if possible. Then, you will begin working on the same skill with your dog, while I am present and can help you get comfortable. At the end of our session, I will give you notes so that you can practice on the new skills in between our sessions. The next session will be a quick review of the prior learned skill, followed by introducing a new skill.
More info
I want to help you create a great relationship with your dog that fosters communication. To do this I start with teaching fundamentals in a calm, comfortable environment (usually the home) and then build to more distracting environments. Training techniques vary by dog and the needs of the client, but I always want to create a positive environment that builds the dogs interest in training.
