Positive Paws Training
With 6 years of hands-on dog training experience and certification through GoodPup, I specialize in reward-based training that builds trust, communication, and confidence. Every dog is different, so I tailor my approach to each dog’s personality, learning style, and individual needs. I focus not only on teaching commands, but on helping pet parents better understand their dogs and create lasting, positive habits at home.

What to expect
Consultation
During a typical consultation, I’ll take time to get to know you and your dog, learn about their personality, daily routine, training history, and any specific behaviors or goals you’d like to work on. We’ll discuss what you’re currently experiencing and create a training approach tailored specifically to your dog. Pet parents should be prepared to share information about their dog’s routine, behavior, and what they hope to accomplish through training. I’ll provide guidance, answer questions, and begin establishing a positive foundation with your dog.
Sessions
Each session is tailored to your dog’s personality, needs, and training goals. We’ll review progress, practice skills using positive reinforcement, and address any challenges. Pet parents are encouraged to participate so they feel confident continuing training at home. Between sessions, I’ll provide simple exercises and strategies to reinforce learning and build consistent, lasting habits. Each session builds on previous progress while keeping training fun, positive, and rewarding.
More info
My training philosophy centers on positive reinforcement, clear communication, consistency, and building a strong relationship between dogs and their people. I reward behaviors I want to see repeated and use motivating rewards such as treats, praise, play, and affection. Rather than relying on fear or punishment, I focus on teaching dogs what we want them to do and setting them up for success. I also work with pet parents to understand why behaviors occur and provide practical strategies they can confidently continue using at home.
