From Unruly to Unstoppable

In my personal life, I train my own dog in basic obedience as well as scent imprinting and tracking. This level of training requires intense and non-stop work to maintain and create an environment where a dog can excel. Scent imprinting alone requires thousands of repetitions to be considered fluent to the dog.

Behavior experience

Resource guarding
Jumping
Leash manners
House manners
Fearful behavior
Anxious behavior
Recall
Mouthiness

Training skill set

Puppy training
Adult dog training
Clicker training
Advanced training
Scent Imprinting

What to expect

Consultation

Consultation will begin the first time I see the dog, even prior to my own interaction with them. Their behavior and whether they are trained are obvious things, although I prefer to know a dog on a personality level. Knowing a dog's personality can aid on approaches for training the dog. Consultations will consist of evaluating pre-existing training or obedience, as well as any traits the owner has identified (negative, positive, or neutral), as well as what the short-term and long-term goals for the guardian and the dog as a pair.

Sessions

Typically in your home

I ask that for all training sessions your dog has not been fed within at least one hour as to avoid bloat or gastrointestinal upset. Please bring a collar or harness based on personal preference (i.e. if your dog lacks leash manners, a harness is preferred to avoid esophageal strain). If your dog prefers toys as a reward, please bring 2-3 of them. During sessions we will work on either a new cue or a pre-existing cue which the dog has learned. I can provide integration tips for making these cue practices part of your daily life as to incorporate them and apply them to real and every-day life.

Positive Reinforcement

Identifying the most fulfilling and positive experiences and reinforcements to create a fun learning environment for new dogs. These learning sessions are not just for the dogs, but can also serve as a way for you to better understand your dog through body language and behaviors. This understanding on your pup's level can foster a very beautiful relationship and bond.
