Build a strong bond with your dog!
I have worked with dogs professionally for 6 years and with my own dogs my entire life. I have worked with a wide range of dogs from classical obedience, to therapy dogs, to reactivity cases. Regardless of what you are working on, training new skills and behaviors in a positive way creates a strong bond with your dog that will last a lifetime, and it is my privilege to coach you and your dog along the way.
What to expect
Consultation
A consultation provides me a chance to discuss your goals and issues you are having and create a plan for how we can best handle these things. It also provides me an opportunity to see your dog (for an in-person consultation) and get acquainted with them. Being in person with a dog allows me to read their body language and watch how they interact with the environment, which gives me good information about what they need or potentially things they need help with that we may not be aware of already.
Sessions
During a typical session, there will be a mix of things happening. I always start sessions off with a human check in: how have things gone since I saw you last, how is our homework going, are there things we struggled with or had questions on, etc. Once we have checked in, then we can continue working on your goals, whether by adding steps to a new cue, or adjusting our approach to a problematic behavior. We will spend time working on things, and to end the day I always try to recap major points and homework for you!
Experience
Positive Reinforcement is scientifically proven to be the most effective training methodology. Not just for dogs, but all species alive. Utilizing a positive approach combined with understanding not just WHAT your dog is doing, but WHY they are doing it are essential to accomplishing your goals with and for them.

Availability
I have a full time job training at another facility, so my availability on Rover is limited to my days off. I am available on Thursdays or Fridays any time of day. Though with the heat of the summer in full effect, I would recommend early morning sessions or training in home during the day.
