Engagement Based Training
I began learning about dog training when I got my first dog in 2022. In 2023, I started taking him to group classes, which turned into an apprenticeship! I also learned a lot while working at a service dog facility for 3 years. My specialty is with with puppies and nervous/reactive dogs, and I have some experience with service dogs as well. I have experience teaching puppy class, obedience class, and trick class. I love building confidence in dogs and working on handler-dog engagement.

Consultation
During your consultation I will ask you about your main goal with training and what issues you are having. I will ask additional questions to get all the information I need from you. Then I will start setting up your training plan and go over what I would have you start with, as well as how many sessions I would recommend. I will give you some tips on what you can start doing now to help your dog as well!
Sessions
In your first session we will get started straight away! Make sure you bring these things with you: Your dog's favorite treats, and favorite toy if they are not very food motivated, Collar or harness, 6 foot leash Between sessions you can message with any questions or concerns. If it is a quick fix I will message you back, if it is something that takes a little longer I will recommend a session!
More info
I think the foundation for good training starts with clear communication, and a good relationship with your dog! My training methodology is positive reinforcement focused, but based on LIMA (least intrusive minimally aversive) and the humane hierarchy. We will focus on getting your dog to WANT to work for you and do all the good things, while setting clear and consistent boundaries. I have experience with all different types of training methods, exercises, and tools. I also believe every dog is different and I am dedicated to finding what works best for each dog and family!

I am currently only doing pet sitting and dog training full time. Because of this, I can be very flexible with my schedule! Especially if you can meet somewhere closer to me.
