Give Your Dog the World
I received my initial training in dog behavior at the San Diego Humane Society, with hours of hands on mentourship and virtual study of dog body language and handling methods, plus real-world application as an admissions specialist. This experience was a springboard for me into the world of dog training. I now have a broad portfolio of education and experience, have trained two service dogs and am working with a third. My personal dog is a former feral who is now trained for public access and even talks with buttons! I love clients with big goals, and dogs with tough shells.

Consultation
I'll meet you and your dog in a public place where we can discuss your goals for training, and I can see your dog's behavior. I welcome questions that help you understand the training process and my approach, personality and professional fit, schedule and budgeting, or anything else that helps you prepare to support your dog through a transformative experience like training. If you feel ready to start, I have an intake form that we will complete together, so I can get a complete understanding of dogs' background before we schedule an evaluation.
Sessions
All sessions with me start with a training plan review and progress check. I will ask you to demonstrate behaviors we worked on last time and any practice given as homework. If adjustments need to be made at this step, we will do so. If your team is ready, I will demonstrate the next exercise we are working on and guide you in completing your first repetitions. Expect to be practicing these skills outside of our time together. The more work you put into your dog, the sooner they are ready for their next exercises and next steps in subsequent sessions!
More info
I focus on building handlers' ability to read their dogs body language, communicate with them in ways they'll understand, and build a lifelong understanding that will take you two anywhere! I believe in setting dogs up for success by asking for reasonable, incremental improvements from them and using positive reinforcement to keep the bond in dog-handler teams strong. I love integrating clicker training, freeshaping, behavior-chaining methods, and lots of training games to build up a dogs repertoire and prepare them to meet your goals!

Availability
I am consistently available om Sundays with varied weekly availability. I am a veterinary assistant and university student earning my B.S. in biology, which puts a lot of variety in my schedule. My summer coursework is online, so I have some flexibility. I update my schedule regularly, but booking in the distant future is limited to Sundays for now, to ensure I am available.
