What to expect

Consultation

When I arrive, I’ll ask that your dog be crated or in another room so we can have a focused conversation. We’ll talk about what’s happening in your home, any challenging behaviors, your goals, and the timeline you’re hoping for. Then I’ll meet your dog and make sure we’re a good fit to work together.

Sessions

Typically in your home

What Training Sessions Look Like Each session is customized to your dog and your goals. We’ll focus on a few key areas at a time. I’ll demonstrate the techniques, then guide you through practicing them. We’ll also run real-life scenarios to build confidence and consistency. You’ll leave with helpful handouts that explain how to continue the work at home—and I’m always here to answer questions.

Positive Reinforcement

I use positive reinforcement to encourage good behavior—rewarding dogs with treats, praise, toys, or affection when they make the right choices. This helps them learn what’s expected in a fun, low-stress way. At the heart of my training is building trust. I take the time to understand each dog’s personality, pace, and needs. By creating a safe and respectful environment, dogs feel confident to learn, explore, and grow. No force. No fear. Just communication, consistency, and compassion.
