Consultation
During consultation, I look for what your animal already knows, any problem areas, and what your goals are. I try to make every session and package tailored to each situation. All I ask is that you have an idea of what you would like!
Sessions
I like to do a very short warm-up and then get right into training! During a typical session, I like to get pet parents directly involved with as much of the training as possible. I will talk through what we’re doing and why, but I expect the dog to work while we talk! I will do about 5 minutes of catching up/ warm-up, 45-50 minutes of active training, and 5-10 minutes of discussing expectations and what’s to come next. Most of the work in training truly comes from homework so please be open to working with your animal outside of scheduled training sessions!
More info
Training should be about building your relationship with your pet. This is why I fully subscribe to rewards based training! Our goal is to make your animal want to help and cooperate vs making them feel like they have to. This is a long proven method that leads to happier pet parents, happier animals, and a happier life together! I also believe in having the pet parent do most if not all of the hands on training. It doesn’t do us any good if your pet listens to me! Most of canine behavior is pattern-based so you should be part of the pattern!
