GoodPup Certified and Insured
What sets me (Alex) apart is my blend of real world experience and professional care. I have been active on Rover for almost five years, completed over 100 reservations, maintained consistent 5 star reviews, and star-sitter status on Rover with my wife, Elizabeth. I am a GoodPup certified trainer and fully insured through PCI, using positive, humane methods tailored to each dog. I focus on building trust, clear communication, and confidence while treating every dog like my own. You can expect patience, professionalism, honesty, and genuine care for your dog’s safety and well being.

What to expect
Consultation
During a consultation, I get to know you and your dog by discussing their history, routine, behavior, and your goals. I observe your dog’s body language and learning style, then teach simple techniques you can use right away. Pet parents are expected to be present and involved. A leash, collar or harness, and soft treats are helpful but not required. After the session, I provide clear next steps, practice guidance, and recommendations so you feel confident, informed, and supported.
Sessions
During a typical training session, you can expect a calm, structured, and positive experience focused on clear communication and real world skills. I assess progress, coach you hands on with your dog, and practice step by step skills with real time feedback. Pet parents are expected to be present and involved. A leash, collar or harness, soft treats, and a quiet space are helpful. Between sessions, short daily practice is encouraged, and I provide simple guidance to keep progress consistent so each session builds on the last.
More info
Alex's training approach is based on modern, science-backed methods learned through the GoodPup Professional Dog Training Certification program. I focus on building trust, clear communication, and confidence in every dog. I use positive reinforcement, marker based communication, consistent routines, real life training scenarios, and calm, relationship focused techniques. I teach dogs what to do instead of using fear or punishment, helping them feel safe and confident. Every dog is unique, so I tailor my approach to their personality, energy level, and home routine.

Availability
I primarily offer training sessions during daytime hours on weekdays. This allows me to give each dog my full attention in a calm, consistent environment. I have some weekend availability, mainly in the mornings and early afternoons. For some dogs, I also offer short board and train style options where your dog stays with me for three to five days of focused, structured training in my home. This works especially well for puppies, basic manners, leash skills, and confidence building. I am flexible when possible and happy to discuss what schedule works best for you and your dog.
