“Jennifer was absolutely amazing. It all started with just simply contacting her. She watched our dog when our area had the good snow storm this year. My husband and I both work in the fire department and were called into work immediately, we had nowhere to place our dog on such short notice. Jennifer eagerly took our dog in such short notice (hour drop off to be exact.) During her stay I got several pictures everyday knowing that even though we were staying busy our pup was having a blast. I can't recommend her enough!”

“Such a great experience! We felt like our dog was safe, happy and on his own little fun vacation playing with their dog! Lorena and her family are perfectly set up for a fun time for your pup! Very sweet people, you can definitely trust them! She even sent us updates and photos! The next time we are in that area we will be requesting her for sure! thanks Lorena!!!”

“Larissa was absolutely amazing! I am a very protective dog mom and don't normally leave my Stink with anyone. Based off other's recommendations for Larissa, I gave her a try and she exceeded my expectations. She was very attentive and kept me updated with pictures, how he was doing throughout the day, etc. She catered to his needs and my anxiety. Lol I will 100% use her again. I'm actually looking forward to it.”

“Kelsi was great! She was able to take care of my dog on short notice when my original plans fell through. I received plenty of photos while Noda was boarded and she seemed to have a great time. I would highly recommend Kelsi!”

“A great vacation for my high energy pups! Christopher was very responsive and was awesome at accommodating for my shepards. Lots of space for them to run and play. Would recommend!”

“Great job taking care of my boys. Provided photos and fixed special food for Rusty when he didn’t want to eat his food. Picked up a day early so extra day paid can be tip.”

“Rebecca was able to take our pet over Thanksgiving week as our regular sitter had an emergency. She met with Olympia and from there our we knew our pet was in good hands. Although we were away, we knew our pet had plenty of company to keep her to keep her occupied and entertained in our absence. Thank you Rebecca for opening your home for our girl and keeping her safe until our return.”

“Paprika had another wonderful stay with Sonja & Phil! She absolutely loves them and they always give us such a peace of mind when our dog stays with them.”

“We had a great experience with Yeny and Ray! They were wonderful with our Furbaby, Kyon. We received lots of sweet and funny photo updates that perfectly captured his personality. It’s clear he was well loved and cared for.. he misses them already! We’re looking forward to booking with them again. Highly recommend!”

“Warren and family provided excellent care for Buddy. He had been there before for a short overnight and remembered the house and was super excited to return. This was an extended vacation for us, and I was concerned about leaving Buddy for so long, but he did wonderfully. I hope Warren continues to provide dog care because I wouldn't want to bring him anywhere else. Thanks Warren!!”

“Petey had a wonderful time and I am happy to have Jeanette look after him whenever we travel. She provided pictures of Petey during his stay and was waiting for us on her front porch. He made new puppy friends, met a little boy who loves him and now has new friends.”

“What a wonderful family!!! They were so welcoming of our big Akita and took care of him just like he was their own. And their dog was also great with mine. They were so accommodating and happy to have Rocko. I would 100% recommend them to anyone and will be using them again. Thank you again Zach and Kelsey!”

“Phillip did a wonderful job taking care of Onyx! She was happy, comfortable, and well cared for, which gave me great peace of mind. I really appreciated the care and attention Philip gave her, and I felt confident that she was in good hands. I would definitely recommend Philip and would happily have him care for Onyx again!”

About: I care deeply about the well-being, happiness, and comfort of every dog in my care. I understand how important it is for your pet to feel safe, loved, exercised and relaxed. You can enjoy worry-free care knowing your furry friend is in caring and attentive hands. I’ve owned pets my whole life and I’ve fostered dogs for the past 3 years. I work but I get up early enough to have ample time for morning routine of potty, feeding and playtime or walk. After work, it’s potty, feeding and playtime again with a walk. Your pet will have the freedom of the main floor until they have settled in. I have gates, play fences and crates if they are needed. Once comfortable, they are allowed upstairs (I had a few fosters that loved to hang out on my bed). I have a fenced yard for play and bathroom. I have multiple dog beds and lots of toys. I have my own small dog, who has never met a dog he didn’t like, and three cats.
“Heather and family are very welcoming. My baby boy was immediately comfortable with them, and the communication is phenomenal!! So happy I found them and looking forward to continue using their services.”

“Shakita was great! My dog who is normally very shy was comfortable and extremely happy while staying with Shakita. He had an amazing time playing with the other small dogs. I could tell by the pictures she sent everyday :) I will definitely be booking with Shakita again!”
“Lisa was amazing to work with it. She was super easy to communicate with and my boys clearly had a good time since they passed out the minute we got home. I would definitely recommend Lisa.”

“Meredith is an angel with our sweet pup! She kept him for the duration of our cruise, and updated us with several pictures and a video. She was able to cater to our specific feeding needs, as well as administering medication. We are so lucky to have a puppysitter that treats him with such love and care.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Tignor home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Tignor.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Tignor sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
