“Donavan is an excellent dog walker. He walked my 13 year olds dog twice a day for over a week and he was very considerate of her. About: Well hello everybody! I have owned and cared for cats my whole life! I would consider myself an expert even with the most challenging kitties and cats of all ages. Most of the cats I have had as pets have been special needs as well so please don’t think your little fur baby is too “difficult” for me! Also, I have been professionally taking care of pets all of my whole life. at most I’ve had 15 cats, 4 dogs, 1 turtle and 1 lizard. poop doesn’t scare me and neither does piddle! I have also had a plethera of pets that had special needs. therefore, if your pet requires special care, I am 100% willing to do that to ensure that you’re comfortable and that your fur-baby is too ☺️ Elderly pets are no worry. If your pet sprays I don’t wish to board them mainly because I don’t want their potty scent throwing off my animals. I have 3 cats of my own at my house. if your pet doesn’t agree with cats boarding probably won’t be the best solution for you! I have a completely open schedule that allows me to be around for you and your pet needs almost everyday of the week. I’m awake around the clock and don’t mind working with odd hours either! I would refer to the pet owners wants, wishes & concerns and of course treat them like as if they were my own little fur baby!

I will be able to leave and check on your pups or even bring them with me to work we have plenty of rooms and cages if they couldn’t play with the other pups. I do bring my cat to work with me so if cats are dog friendly they would be able to come too I have very well trained dogs so they stay in the yard, I do stand outside and watch them. I dog sit for many people and I am more than happy to clean puppy pads, use a leash and walk them or anything necessary
About: Who better than a veterinarian to take care of your best buddies while you're away? I am a new DVM graduate, and am happy to take care of your pets, no matter how old or young, especially those with special needs! I am certified in dog/cat CPR, and am comfortable providing any care needed. *Please note*: My providing pet sitting/dog walking/pet care services does NOT constitute a VCPR, and I cannot provide medical advice unless a VCPR is explicitly established in accordance with NY State Law* I prefer to stay in the client's home especially for dogs as this is generally much more comfortable for the dog to stay in their own environment. For overnight stays, I like to meet the dogs beforehand with owners present. This way they are assured it is okay to have me in their space for staying with them.
“Melessa is very reliable and has been real patient with my anxious dog. She’s always on time and walked Avie for 2 weeks, rain or shine. She made sure Avie wore his coat/raincoat when it’s cold or raining out. I appreciate you, Melessa! Highly recommend!”

About: Hi! My name is Emery and I am a recent college grad. I've had a wide variety of pets that I've taken care of in the 7 years of experience I have. I have taken care of dogs for about 4 years and have experience feeding, walking, and watching dogs. I also really enjoy taking dogs on hikes! I have mostly done house drop ins where I would feed the dogs and play with them. I own three cats myself, Pumpkin (13), Bean (11 weeks old) and Sprout (3). I have trained the older ones to do tricks and to go on walks. My most recent experience has mostly been in care for cats, where I would feed and play with them at home visits. I am currently a line cook and I work mostly evenings. I can easily work pet care around my schedule by making sure I go to take care of your pet needs before any shift. I have two cats at home, and I am willing to house cats at my home. Small dogs are allowed on a case by case basis. I have an extra bedroom to be used as a safe zone for your pet's privacy. I also already have extra litter boxes. Our cats here have experience meeting other cats and dogs. They interact well with them. As for dogs I am willing to dedicate as much time needed to make sure they adjust well and feel safe with me. I love to play with dogs and give them belly rubs.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
