“Shayla is amazing!! This was our first time boarding our 5 month old puppy and we were a little nervous leaving her but Shayla kept in constant communication with lots of updates, pictures and videos. Our Stella had so much fun making new friends and hanging out with Shayla. We will definitely be using her again in the future. It made our vacation less stressful having peace of mind that our pup was safe and happy!”

“Nakita and her family were wonderful. She kept me updated with photos and videos of Rosie having a great time. Would definitely use again. Rosie was well loved and cared for in their home!”

“We could not recommend them more! They even sent us home with a little goodie bag and bought us an extra blanket since my dog’s blanket accidentally messed up in the washer. They definitely went above and beyond! I enjoyed seeing the photos of Gunner each day. I would trust them with any of my pets again.”

“Luna was so happy during her stay. I could tell by her demeanor when I picked her up that she was comfortable. I will definitely trust Luna with them again without a doubt.”

“Brandy is the best sitter we have had, she took súper good care of our Kiba, you can tell Kiba was very happy staying with her. During our time away Brandy keep us updated constantly of what our baby was doing with text and pictures which allow us to enjoy our time away knowing that she was having a good time as well. Thanks a lot Brandy you will be without a doubt our first option for boarding for future needs.”

“Isabella was wonderful with Emmie and Zoey. She was very patient with them since this was their first time with her. She sent daily pictures and reports. She was very accommodating when it came to dropping off and picking them up. We look forward their next visit with her.”

“This is our second boarding with Kamal and it was a pleasure. Kamal ensures our marshmallow is walked, snuggled and sends lots of updates. I think Bear has made Kamal a part of his pack ♥️”

“I’m very happy with this service and was great to have her watch my dog while I was away. She was great with him and I felt very comfortable having my dog with her! Thank you Maya and will def call her next time!”

About: I grew up with family dogs and I have a spoiled little doodle mutt of my own. Your baby will be spoiled rotten in my care ❤️❤️ I often dog sit for family and friends for free since I love having a playmate for my Sushi (my dog) and now they’ve suggested I make it a side hustle. Also, I’m a nurse so I can take good care of both people and doggies. I work 3 12-hour shifts in a week so I’m basically free for 4 days. I also have my husband who will help in taking good care of your pets. Believe it or not he is an even more softie for doggies than me. We’ve been wanting to get a second dog so I’m hoping to keep him busy with foster babies and forget about it for now until we can afford to have another furbaby 😊 I have a fenced yard and 1 very cute doodle to keep your pets company. I also make it a point to walk my dog twice a day and bring her to the dog park nearby. I also often do a pup cup run with my baby so I can definitely bring your baby along and free pup cup on me 😊
“Awesome sitter! Sent pictures without needing to request them and I loved the constant updates, great communicater☺️ The dogs came back very happy❤️ Definitely a dog sitter that I will be using again!”

“Left my giant Bernese mountain dog with Kyle for 17 days. Being in the military can be tough with a dog, but I couldn’t be happier with how it went. I could tell Chewie had a great time and the pictures and updates were just the right amount. Highly highly recommend Kyle, I’ll definitely use him again!”

“Kim and her family were so wonderful for our 10yr old Min Pins. They had such a great time staying with them. Kim was absolutely wonderful with communication, any requests or needs they had, and questions to make their stay as comfortable as can be. It was nice they had a new friend Luca to play with too! We loved receiving pictures and updates about the boys. We will definitely come back with Kim and her family when we return for vacation. Very grateful for the wonderful care and love they received.”

“Rayna has watched my super chill Great Pyrenees twice now. She totally gets it. She has a dog friendly place, loves all dogs big and small and I really feel like she cares. Dolly can be a little bit of a turd (stubborn) but Rayna rolls with it. Thank you!”
“Tanya was very quick to respond to our request for a stay and made everything very easy to transact. She did a great job welcoming our dog into her home and sending us pictures throughout the day.”

About: Growing up my household was always blessed with multiple animals. Some of my best childhood memories revolved around my dogs. I had a German Shepherd, a border collie, a Rottweiler, and a couple of rescue pups. My childhood gave me an appreciation for the intelligence and love that dogs can show. I'll admit large bois hold a special place in my heart but there's room for all sizes! I currently work part-time as Coach in fitness. I teach classes early morning 5-9 and late in the evening 3-8 a few days a week, a lot of weekdays I have free :) I am generally completely available during the weekends! I am very active, I have a lots of stamina and strength to keep up with the pups! I am also very health conscious :)
“William did such an excellent job watching our Loala girl! She had tons of playtime, walks, and looked so happy and comfortable the entire time. William kept us updated with plenty of pictures and videos, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. We didn't have to worry one bit! Thank you for taking such great care of her — we'll definitely be booking with you again next time we're in town!”

About: Not just have I grown up around animals of all kinds but I have taken care of several friends and families pets to ensure their well being while the owners were away. I currently am not limited to hours to come to care of your furry babies! I’m willing to work around most people’s needs within almost any hours!. I prefer to be able to go to your house to provide any care you’re seeing fit. Such as visiting your pet/animals keeping them active with play time, keep them outside as much as possible for exercise/potty time. I can make sure they are fed/watered. Just providing that time they need to get through the time you’re away.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Tarboro home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Tarboro.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Tarboro sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
