“As a first time rover user I was terrified BUT Lauren is incredible!!!! I had a last minute need for drop in visits and she not only accommodated me but went above and beyond. She was so incredibly kind about my chaos and my house being very much a dog house. She cleaned up pots that my dogs broke which was so exceptionally kind! She took great pictures of them and they were clearly happy and she checked in with me consistently. 10/10 recommend and would love to hire her again!!”

“Gabby gave live updates and took lots of photos of our babies. Great communicator and you can tell our pups enjoyed her company with the report card photos. Thanks again!”

“Alexsys took wonderful care of our two cats while we were on vacation. She went above and beyond, and we’ll definitely book her again! We can’t recommend her highly enough!”

“Kim took such great care of our two pups! Even though there was some technical difficulties, she found a way to ensure the pups were safe and cared for. She sent lots of pictures of our pups and kept us updated while she was at our home. I couldn’t have asked for a better drop in experience!!”

“Megan is doing a great job with Abby. She arrives promptly at the scheduled time or communicates, if the schedule is going to be slightly adjusted. As well as letting Abby out for a potty break, she takes Abby for a walk and from pictures also sits with and spends time her. Abby always looks happy in the visits.”

“I felt so confident leaving my cat in Hannah’s care! She gave great updates every day and even went above and beyond by adjusting our visit schedule TWICE!!! due my plans changing. I would happily recommend her to care for anyone’s fur babies!”

“Jennifer was awesome checking in on my 2 cats while I was away at a conference. We texted and also spoke via phone about each cat’s need, how they may respond with a new person, and my expectations. She spent the time of the short check in to ensure they were fed, watered, and did play time with them. She also kept me apprised the entire time. I plan to use her in the future and highly recommend her!”

“We had a wonderful experience with this Hailey! This was our first time using Rover to book a cat sitter, and we couldn’t have asked for anyone better. She was incredibly attentive, kind, and clearly cares deeply about animals. Her communication was excellent throughout, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. We will absolutely be booking with her again in the future. Highly recommend!”

“I wanted Day to spend some time with my dogs prior to an extended dog sit. My GSD likes to jump on people who enter the house and gets very excited. Day took charge and let Mira know to get off and waited for her to calm down before proceeding. Both dogs have specific needs ranging from sensitive stomach issues to elderly care issues. Day got to spend time with the dogs while I left them alone to get acquainted. The visit went well. Dogs were snuggled up on the couch with Day upon my return.”

“I can’t recommend Heather highly enough! From the moment we met, it was clear she genuinely cares about my pup and takes her responsibilities seriously. Heather provided excellent care for him and kept me updated with photos and messages, and made me feel completely at ease while I was away.”

“We have had the pleasure of working with Kelley for close to a year now, and, as usual, Kelley went above and beyond to ensure my cat was happy, healthy, and loved while I was away. Her attention to detail and genuine affection for animals truly sets her apart. I highly recommend her to anyone in need of a trustworthy and compassionate pet sitter!”

“Tess did an amazing job sitting for our pups. Punctual, very communicative, and most importantly our dogs were tuckered out at the end of the day. Will definitely hire again, A++ reliable sitter!”

About: I have been animal sitting for almost 9 years now, starting when I was in high school. I have experience in animal care for multiple species, energy levels, behaviors, ages, and health needs. No task is too big for me, my biggest job was being a sitter for a family of 10 dogs, and a pig! I worked at a nonprofit animal rescue where I learned more about how to care for cats and dogs, and how to gauge their personalities, and energy levels. I am passionate about animal happiness and satisfaction. Right now, I am completely free. I have a car and a valid drivers license. I just moved back home after hiking for 4 months on the Appalachian trail, while walking I had lots of time to think about my passions, and of those are animal welfare, care, and personally staying active and fit! I have two personal dogs, one of which is a senior in hospice care, out of respect for him, I am not taking animals into my home right now. However, any type of drop-ins or house-sitting is on the table. I take direction seriously and can provide medical care, activity, play, feeding, or anything else that is needed for your beloved animal!
About: I’ve had a cats and dogs since I was little and have experience giving medication, taking them on walks, feeding them, including specialized diets and medications. I have experience in senior care and taking care of disabled animals, having two senior pets and a disabled cat of my own. I’m very flexible and love animals! I’m a student and working part time, but I still have plenty of free time to care for your animals! I am dedicated and able to take care of my own animals and take care of yours! I am very calm and understanding of animals boundaries. I can hangout with your pet if needed, but also understand if they’re more skittish, having experience with past skittish pets.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Swimley. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
