“Darcy was wonderful caring for our boy. She communicated well throughout our trip, followed the routine, and was caring with our home. We would use her again anytime and we're thankful for her fantastic care of Charlee.”

“I can’t thank Amanda enough for taking care of my big boy Garth. Garth is a rescue and gets nervous easily, this was the first time he stayed with anyone outside of family. Amanda took such good care of him and gave me updates the entire time I was gone. This dog is my entire heart and soul-if you’re extremely anxious about having to leave your animal Amanda is the woman for the job!”

“Amy did an absolutely fantastic job house sitting for our crew of three. She is the best and I would not hesitate to have her sit for our babies any time. We love her and so do our pets.”

“We are SO grateful for Jaxton! He watched our two boys the week of Thanksgiving while we were out of town, and he was absolutely phenomenal. He sent us updates and photos every day, and even brushed our dogs with the shedding tool we left in their bag—without us ever asking. He took such thoughtful care of our home and treated our pups like they were his own. If you’re looking for someone to trust with your pets and your home, Jaxton is the one. We cannot recommend him enough. Thank you, Jaxton! We appreciate you so much!”

About: I grew up surrounded by animals, so I’m completely comfortable with all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. If your dog needs a high energy run or your senior cat needs medication and gentle handling, I know exactly how to keep them safe and happy. I have worked at Shackleford Road Veterinary Clinic as a kennel tech as well. I’ll treat your pets like my own, with love and an eye for their health. Expect plenty of photo updates while you're away! I am currently at home for the summer. I am taking one online class so I am available all day and night for your pets. I will follow all instructions you have left to a T. I can accommodate to whatever your pet needs. Your pet will be given as much attention as is needed.
About: I love animals. I was a former foster pet parent. We ended up adopting. We have adopted three dogs and they are our families world. Can’t imagine life without them. I’m able to help with your pet after my work hours and before my 8 hour shifts at the hospital and on the weekends as needed. Would love to pet sit or walk your animals. I love pets and helping when needed. I usually work 8 hour shifts at the hospital.
“Lacy was absolutely fantastic! My husband and I went on an 11 day trip to Europe and I was incredibly anxious leaving our fur baby, Leroy, due to his considerable health issues and his age. Lacy took excellent care of Leroy, keeping up with his medication and providing multiple updates which helped ease my mind tremendously! We came home to a very clean house and a happy, healthy boy. We can’t thank Lacy enough and would highly recommend her!”

About: Dogs have been part of my household since childhood both as a member of our family and as a responsibility. I am familiar with puppy energy, older dog needs, and the social interaction that your furry fam requires and their individual personalities that require a unique individual approach. I am experienced with dog walking, pet sitting, visitations and transport and social time/outtings. I have traveled with pets, and know how important routines and frequent checkups are for their social and mental well-being! I have currently full availability. Dog sitting for an extended period? Absolutely not a problem. I am able to do check-ins during certain times, or if you just want them to have a bathroom break every few hours or so I’m fine with that. I am alright to do some travel for small to mid/large dogs, if they need some park time, or even if you are looking to have them taken somewhere and can’t swing by home to grab them! Currently have no pets (they had to stay back home with parents 😢) and willing to take a small animal for a weekender stay in my apartment if they have a kennel. In the event that I do I can only take them for a weekend due to apartment style living not being as suitable for a dog. However while they are here, I am able to walk them quite a bit in this area; Heights has great walkability. Most of my care would be for you at your home, walking, sitting, pickup, etc. If they like to grab treats, interact with people, etc. I can find an arrangement either you that works best for your pet. I have friends nearby who have had rescues, elderly pets, and love animals, so they would love to meet and greet and give your animal some love and plenty of attention
“Azalea was fantastic. She was very well received by Kobe Ali. I had a very bad experience with Paws Mahal dog daycare and Rover APP was just what I needed to find my God-send Azalea. She stayed at my home and provided daily care for Kobe. She walked him, played with him and showed him love. She was just what I needed and Kobe needed. azalea provided me the peace of mind needed to relax and enjoy my family for Thanksgiving. She will be booked again and again.”

“Ashleigh was fantastic! She was incredibly communicative and sent tons of photos. She showed so much care for our dogs and would update us with anything unusual she noticed or if anything happened to one of them. She was also more than willing to clean up big messes from our puppies which was great! Would definitely recommend Ashleigh to watch and care for your pets!”

“Allison is fantastic! She was great with our dogs and even won the affection of our dog who does not enjoy making new friends. We so appreciated her staying with our dogs on short notice.”

“Jaycee took excellent care of our dogs and cat. All the animals enjoyed her company and are all in good health and good spirits when we arrived home. She provided constant updates and followed all care instructions perfectly. I would recommend Jaycee to anyone needing a reliable caring sitter!”

“Allison did a great job taking care of my two Newfoundlands. Communication was excellent throughout my trip, and when I came home, they were very happy to see me but also seemed completely relaxed and well cared for, almost like they hadn’t missed me at all. That says a lot about the care she provided. Overall, I’m very happy with the job she did taking care of my girls.”

About: I have taken care of dogs for over 10 years. My first baby was Kramer (cockapoo) and now I have a big boy named Koda (Golden Retriever). I love all pets, but specifically dogs. They are so loving, loyal, and kind, and I love to give that to them in return. I work as a professor at an university and usually done around 1pm each day, so I can let the babies out for their afternoon/evening potty breaks. I am also free for the summer due to school letting out, so I will have way more free time from May until the middle of August to give your baby attention any time of day. I have a fenced yard and a golden retriever for your baby to play with. Sometimes, I have my sister's dog to babysit so there will be another friend.
“Juli stayed at our house for 5 days and took care of our 5 animals. She sent pictures and updates everyday and was so attentive to all of our fur babies while we were gone! When we got home the kitty litter was scooped, back yard was scooped, and everything was in perfect condition. Juli was such an amazing find on Rover!”

“Sarah did an amazing job taking care of my two Newfoundlands and my home. She was incredibly reliable, attentive, and clearly cared about the dogs as if they were her own. Every day she kept me updated with messages and pictures, which gave me great peace of mind while I was away. Both dogs were happy, well cared for, and in great condition when I returned. The house was also well looked after. I highly recommend Sarah to anyone looking for a trustworthy and professional dog sitter. I couldn’t be happier with her service!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Sweet Home
We so appreciate Darcy taking care of our senior dog, Charlee. We were on a cruise without service but she kept updated and willing to use other forms of communication if needed. We came home to a nice note and some cute poloroids to keep of Charlee. We felt so comfortable and able to relax knowing he was in great hands. Thanks again, Darcy.

FAQs for House Sitting - Sweet Home
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 328 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Sweet Home. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sweet Home walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sweet Home maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sweet Home choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Sweet Home. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
