“This is about the third time Sandy has taken care of our kittes and home, and she always does an outstanding job. It allows me to fully relax and enjoy our travels because I know that our babies are happy. They used to get so freaked out when they saw the suitcases come out. Bu now they just look on as we prepare for our trip, knowing that their friend Sandy will soon arrive to entertain them.”

“I had a last-minute adjustment to my vacation schedule and needed a sitter and found Shayna. She was super flexible and accommodating, and came to meet my dogs and learn their routine the same day! Shayna provided excellent care for my dogs who are anxious and can sometimes be difficult to care for. I would absolutely use her again for overnight services or walking anytime that we are traveling and she is available! Thank you for taking such good care of my girls💙🐶”

About: I began my journey in animal care at the age of 15, working at a dog boarding and daycare facility. Over the course of six rewarding years, I honed my skills in managing and caring for dogs of all breeds and temperaments. While I later transitioned to office roles, my passion for the outdoors and animal companionship has never waned. Today, I am the proud caretaker of a diverse and lively menagerie, including my own pups, a cat, goats, ducks, pigs, cows, and chickens. My deep connection with animals drives me to offer exceptional daycare and boarding services. My property features a spacious field and a scenic wooded trail, perfect for nature walks and playgroups for local pets. I am committed to creating fun and enriching experiences for your furry friends, combining my love for animals with my extensive experience in pet care. Let’s make your pet’s day extraordinary with engaging outdoor adventures and personalized care! I can accept your fur babies for daycare or boarding 7 days a week. I also accept last minute reservations. Drop offs can be as early as 6am and pick up can be negotiable depending on the day. I have 3 playful dogs who love to have friends to romp around the field with and go swimming in the river. My property is not fenced in.

About: I've worked with pets my whole life, and have worked with dogs professionally for over a year. I bring a depth of knowledge and a willingness to learn that help me adapt to the needs of every animal. I work full time, but primarily have weekends and weekdays evenings and nights available. So if you are looking to take a weekend getaway, or need someone to come check on the pets in the evenings, I'll be happy to work you into my schedule. I make sure pets are fed and cared for to their owners specifications. Medical needs are seen to as a priority, and hygiene, bathroom, and attention needs are always a focus when I am caring for pets.

Stepping in on short notice and staying at our home was a huge help, and it gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Jackie is reliable, communicative, trustworthy, and genuinely caring—everything you could hope for in a pet sitter. We would absolutely book with Jackie again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for exceptional care for their pets. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of Zeus!”

“Rae is absolutely amazing! We love our dog dearly, but he can be a real handful—high energy, impulsive, and incredibly excitable, especially around new people. Before we even left, Rae had him calmly resting at her feet while she worked on her laptop. She somehow tuned into his personality right away, and even taught him a few new tricks! Her updates were thoughtful and detailed, and it was clear she truly understood him in a way that was both insightful and observant. Rae is a true dog whisperer! We’ve never felt as at ease leaving him with someone as we did with her. On a scale of 1 to 10, Rae is an 11. Highly, highly recommend!”

About: I have dog sat and walked dogs for friends, family, and neighbors for the last eight years and approximately two years ago adopted my American Bully, Cane Corso mix named Clementine. I even trained her to be a therapy dog through a lot of training and education. I am comfortable working with rescues as well. I love working with all breeds, but specifically I love working with bully mixes too!! I am comfortable with medication administration, as well as working with dogs that have recently had surgery. My dog had TPLO surgery and took six months to recover so I’m willing to support in that process as well! I also have experience working with rescue dogs. I currently work full-time as a social worker, but I am looking to help with pet sitting on the weekends or dog walks earlier in the morning. In my home, my dog is on a strict schedule which includes brushing her teeth twice a day, administering medication in the morning, a structured walk and enrichment. For your pup, I can do whatever is needed!! my dog is also crate trained, and has been training to be a therapy dog. I am comfortable with dogs that are reactive to other dogs as well. I am able to do boarding in my home but your dog would have to be comfortable with my dog so we would have to do a meet and greet. I do not have a fun fenced in backyard, but I live on a rail trail and take my dog on walks there often. I am also comfortable with dropping in visits, walks, and overnight pet sitting.

About: I’ve been caring for animals for as long as I can remember, from smaller pets like dogs and cats when I was younger to today where I help care for goats and alpacas on my family farm. I also have a young puppy of my own that I’ve been training, so I’m very familiar with routine building and patience when it comes to animals! Currently I am a college student so I am very flexible to work over breaks when I home whether that be weekends or weekdays, day or night! Though I am not available to care for animals in my own home, I will make it a priority to make them as comfortable as possible in yours! Wheather that be crating them, sticking with routines such as feeding, walking, or any other special instructions you leave me, so that your pet can feel consistent and comfortable while you are gone!

About: Where Boarding Feels Like a Vacation 🐾🌲 More than dog boarding — it’s an adventure camp designed around your dog. With years of experience caring for dogs of all breeds and energy levels, my passion for dogs started at a young age, working alongside my family in our dog kennel and grooming business. I understand that every dog has their own personality, energy level, routines, and needs. Here, dogs don’t spend their days in traditional kennels. They have their own comfortable dog bedrooms, plenty of space to relax, and the freedom to enjoy their surroundings. Our property sits on 45 private, set-back acres, providing a peaceful and secure environment away from the road. There’s room to explore, run, play, hike, and even swim! 🌲🐕💦 🐾 What Makes Us Different • 45 private acres to explore and enjoy • Safe, set-back property away from the road • Comfortable dog bedrooms instead of traditional kennels • Swimming access for dogs who love the water • Plenty of exercise, outdoor adventures, and playtime • Lots of cuddles, attention, and one-on-one interaction • Experience with high-energy dogs and a variety of breeds • A focus on keeping your dog’s routine, comfort, and happiness at the heart of their stay Our goal is simple: when you’re away, your dog should feel like they’re on their own vacation — not stuck in a kennel. From morning adventures to afternoon swims, playtime, exploring, and plenty of cuddles afterward, every day is built around giving your dog the exercise, enrichment, attention, and love they deserve. Because your dog isn’t just being boarded. They’re coming to camp. 🐾🌲❤️ We own 2 German shorthair pointers which are active so I spending most of the day outside! The dogs join us hiking on our large wooded property with trails and swimming available 40+ Acres set off the road, along a nice pond and 25ft of fenced in dog area with a dog house if dogs need to be in a fenced area. I usually have my dogs off leash at the house because it’s such a large open space and we are outside most of the time! Will take leashed dogs if preferred** Lots of space inside and outside for dogs to enjoy

He kept us updated with messages and photos. We’ll definitely be using him again in the future!”

FAQs for House Sitting - Sutton

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of October 2026, there are 235 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Sutton. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sutton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sutton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

<b>Tip:</b> Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sutton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Sutton. On Rover:

  • 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 86% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
