“Chelsea was great with our special needs kitty, Minnie. She took a real interest in our care instructions and took excellent care of Minnie. We really appreciated the updates and photos. We plan on re-booking her the next time we travel.”

About: As a passionate animal advocate, I've had the privilege of serving as the Foster Care Coordinator at the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society for 1 year, while also volunteering with shelters throughout my adult life. Additionally, I'm a Certified Veterinarian Assistant, and my life's journey has been enriched by sharing it with diverse animals, from beloved domestic pets like dogs and cats, to hospice and senior animals. I'm committed to providing your cherished pets with the same love, care, and compassion that I've devoted to my own. I am thrilled to be available Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm. If you have a special request for different hours, I invite you to share your needs and I will eagerly discuss and arrange a solution that works for you. I will nurture your fur babies with the same love and devotion I would shower upon my own precious little ones. With my extensive shelter experience, I have been blessed to work with dogs and cats of all shapes, sizes, temperaments and life stages. I have had the joy of caring for rambunctious puppies and the privilege of providing comfort to senior dogs and cats.

About: As a military spouse, I understand how hard it is to find great care at an affordable rate and possibly the last minute. My goal is to provide love for your babies so that you may focus on whatever calls you away without any worries. I work remotely so any needs or schedules for your babies will be met promptly and to your liking. Please prepare a written list that I may follow. Things to expect when dropping off your babies: Your babies will be provided their own space within my sight at all times (until bedtime) and that space can be adjusted to fit their needs (bigger or smaller). They will be provided food, clean water, cuddles, and as much playtime as they need. If they have any special needs I will ask for written instructions and provide those needs as necessary. I can provide as much or as little communication as you prefer and make sure your babies are doing great while away.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter than Jess for our first time using Rover. She made us feel at ease, clearly loved dogs, and made the most of each visit with our dogs. We would gladly trust Jess with our dogs in the future!”

“Avery is the best! We have had Avery as a dogsitter for over a year now and is our go-to dog sitter. We had some work things pop up where we needed to change around the time and visit expectations and she was extremely accommodating. She also knows how to deal with our 3 crazy dogs and they love when she comes over to play with them. 💝”

“It was a holiday weekend and stressful to begin with, especially finding care for Maxx. Rebecca made that the least of my worries. She was really great with Maxx (he is a big boy and can be a handful) and the high points of my days away were her comments and pictures of what they did together and how he was doing. She also did a lot of little things she really didn't have to: taking him for a little walk, scooping my cat's box, taking out the trash, etc. I really could not have made a better choice! Thanks Rebecca!”

“Unfortunately Niko passed before Linda sat for us so she watched axel and sent pics every visit and we felt comfortable with her watching him she did a great job will use her again.”

“Sarah has watched my dog and cat multiple times, and once again, she was amazing with them! My dog is a rescue and has severe anxiety, and she does a wonderful job with him. He trusts her and likes her, and she goes out of her way to gain his trust. I highly recommend Sarah!”

About: i've taken care of dogs since I was 11 and I've had a cat for almost ten years now. I love spending time with all breeds! I am currently working part time, so I will have plenty of time to play with, take care of, and love on your fur babies. I'll take care of your animals whichever way you see fit. I have a fenced in back yard and will crate them if you see fit.

About: I've loved animals since I was a kid and have cared for many throughout my life! I was tasked with raising my family dog since she was a puppy when I was in high school, and I helped my college roommate with her puppy! I have walked/boarded many dogs and cats since moving to Virginia! Being in the military, my coworkers travel a lot so I have become the workplace's go-to "pet auntie." I genuinely love to spoil pets and providing them with a safe and homey environment while their loved ones are out! I have a fairly flexible work schedule so I can come back to my home or to your home to take care of your pet! Early morning, lunch, and evenings are especially free, so I can work around that depending on your needs. I do not own pets, so they will be here as a single child in the case they are boarded! Crates, food, litter boxes, etc will need to be provided as I don't own those things. I have access to many parks around my neighborhood, so walkability is not an issue!

“Melanie was fantastic taking care of my cat, Jimmy. I went out of state for Christmas and had her come twice a day for a week to feed him and clean his litter box. She sent me pics, videos and notes the whole time which was comforting since I had never left him for more than 2 days before this trip. She even took my trash and cleaned out the sink of his bowls. I can definitely recommend Melanie!”

About: I have owned, trained and taken care of a huge variety of breeds, temperaments and sizes. My current dog is a 120lb Shiloh Shepherd. My last was a 7lb Rat Terrier, Chihuahua mix! I'm currently in school online and self employed, so I can modify my schedule to fit your needs! From early mornings, to late in the evening, I have you covered! Pets are part of your family and as such, will be treated with the utmost care, respect and diligence. It is a big leap to trust a stranger with a family member, and I strive to provide the best care for you pet!

“Kelley is the absolute best! My husband and I have never left our cats with anyone before so we were hesitant to leave them but we are so thankful that we found someone like Kelley! She was so sweet and comforting and kept us updated throughout the week with pictures of our fur babies? If you want someone who really is going to take care and love your pets, Kelley’s your girl! 10/10 recommend her!”

“Nicole is a very compassionate and caring dog watcher. She was attentive to Bella and let me know how things were going throughout her visits. She’s is very flexible and I would highly recommend her to anyone who needs someone to watch their dog.”

About: Creator and owner of dauchshund to the Rescue.I've always had a passion for animals since I was a little girl.I'm currently going to school for veterinary medicine. My life revolves around taking care of animals while running the rescue so I am always home to take care of all of their needs. Each dog and cat is different, so it's on a case-by-case basis, I always like to observe their behavior and take care of them based on what they seem comfortable with.

About: I have loved animals all my life. I currently have the pleasure of caring for 3 dogs, a bird and an outdoor cat in my home. 1 of my dogs is senior and requires medication daily. I love birds and would board your bird in a heartbeat! I think pets just make life better. Until you need to find pet care and it’s super expensive! I offer low cost pet care in my home on the weekends so that you can go on a weekend trip. One day when I retire I hope to open that up to everyday of the week, but for now I work full time. My house has a large fenced backyard where dogs can roam and play. I also have a husky/border collie and a corgi mix who would love to be a companion to your dog for the weekend. They love when friends come to play. I currently care for my moms dog every time she goes on vacation and thought, hey, why don’t I start up this little pet sitting business on the side since I enjoy having furry buddies around. Everytime Brownie comes she gets treated like a queen with lots of attention and love. Don’t you want that for your dog, instead of a cold crate at the vet? Just hire me and your dog will feel like it’s on vacation too. I work full-time so a weekend situation would be best if you want your pet to have attention all day. Otherwise, I get home at 3 everyday and would be open to boarding during the week if you were okay with that. My dogs get let out around 10 am by my husband and just lounge and sleep all day until 3 pm when I get home. It works for us :) I have a fenced yard and 2 friendly dogs that can keep your dogs company. My other dog is senior and is separated from the bunch due to her being blind and deaf. She’s still loved like family, just in her own doggy play pen for safety. If you need senior dog care, I’m your sitter, as I have plenty of experience with my own shitzhu, Beauty. I always make sure there’s fresh water, and give snacks during the day. I dental bone a day and two meals. Whatever your dog’s food preferences are, I can do. I am used to giving medication daily as well.

Ruthanne R.
“Ruthie was a lifesaver for our beagle who is a hyper and anxious dog! She played with her during her visits and sent us pictures too. We also have exotic animals and a dog on hospice who requires medication. Thankfully she has experience working with hospice animals and was able to administer the meds. Another great thing about her is that she not afraid of our other animals like our bearded dragon. Now we can continue to take trips as a family out of town and know all our animals are in good hands! Ruthie rates a 10 out 10 with us and we’re lucky to have her! 🥸”

Kacie R.

“Hello,my name is Teresa Joyner,I fell and broke my back February 9th. I reached out to my friend Trenton Lyles to see if he could help me walk my 3 dogs, and he graciosly agreed to help me. I have 2 pit bulls ,Angel and Nala, and a hound dog Freddie. They all feel in love with Trent. He NEVER missed a day in over 2 months, always on time, and went over and beyond in helping me during my recovery. He is an animal lover and excelled at every task asked of him.”
