About: My name is Matt, dog walking/caretaking/house sitting has been my sole occupation for the past 11 years. I started working with dogs as the primary animal caretaker for a daycare where we also provided boarding, grooming and professional training services. During my three years there, working alongside a professional trainer and groomer, I developed a deep understanding of canine behavior and communication and have handled all different types of personalities, breeds, temperaments and sizes of dogs from newborn puppies to large and difficult or aggressive dogs. I also have experience administering meds and caring for dogs with various health conditions or disabilities including dogs with missing limbs, blindness, hearing loss, diabetes and epilepsy. Your pet's safety is my top priority, I carry water and first aid supplies on walks and only use positive reinforcement methods when working with animals. I do not take an "alpha male" approach with dogs, I understand that building trust requires patience, a mutual understanding of boundaries and keeping interactions positive. Dog walking is my primary occupation. I'm generally available 7 days a week even on short notice, including holidays. I don't typically take time off unless it's necessary. I have a small, well-kept fenced in back yard for the dogs to run free. I have different sized crates and several dog gates to accommodate or separate dogs when necessary for safety or comfort. The dogs will always have plenty of bedding, clean dishes and fresh water.

Matthew S.
“Matt started dog sitting for us shortly after we moved to Rice Lake in 2014. We adopted our German Shepherd in 2015 and he is now 9 1/2 years old. We adopted our blind and abused Ori Pei (Pug/Shar-Pei Mix) 5 years ago and she is now 10 years old. Both dogs came from rescue organizations and have suffered significant abuse and neglect and are especially afraid of men. It did not take long for Matt to gain their trust. Matt was able to figure out what works best for each pet and has worked to build up their confidence. Matt has worked hard to expand their experiences so their comfort zones grow and they can gradually experience a better quality of life as they age. Matt has been our sole dog care provider for the past 10 years. I would highly recommend him for dog care, dog walking, and dog house sitting jobs. He is extremely honest and one of the best people I know.”

Lillianna W.
“Lillianna has been doing house/pet sitting, drop-in care, and exercise and enrichment with my animals for several years now. She has handled excited giant puppies, a fearful young male dog, elderly cats with health care needs, and post-amputation enrichment and training for a young male kitten. Lillianna has unfailingly been responsible, reliable, and trustworthy. She has met each animal where there are at, and each has fallen in love with her. Lillianna has shared photos and videos of touching moments when appropriate, and has answered any questions in a timely manner. I can wholeheartedly and with full enthusiasm recommend Lillianna for any animal related care she offers.”

Charlotte S.
“Charlie is a compassionate and caring pet lover. We worked at a children's horse camp together for many years and have stayed friends for 20+ years. She is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to all kinds of animals. She spent many years studying and practicing animal care professionally, she is beyond qualified to be the best Rover provider. She has a big pet family of her own, her dogs and my dog are best friends, Charlie teaches me something new about my dog every time we have a chance to get together. I've never met anyone who cares more for animals than her, if her calendar is open you would be SO lucky to have her watching your babies! She will treat them like they are her own. She will go above and beyond to make sure your pet is as comfortable as they can be. Highly recommend!”
