“Emmerson was wonderful performing drop-in visits for my two kitties! She was always timely and communicated very well, which I appreciate. Every day she’d send pictures and update me on how the girls were doing. I felt like my cats were well cared for with Emmerson, and I would rebook with her again!”

“Terrie is amazing. She has been watching my brood since I moved to Louisiana. My cats are my babies and I truly value their care above all else. Knowing they are safe and secure with Terrie makes taking a trip easier. The photos and updates the joy of my days when I’m away. I’ll continue to use Terrie for my furbabies.”

About: I work at Campbowwow ( a doggy daycare) I know how to look for signs of stress and how to handle it. I handle up to 25 dogs at a time so 1 or 2 is no problem. I work from 6am to 1pm 5 days a week. I can always come before work and I am available all afternoon or even late at night. I have had many dogs through out my life. I walked a Grate Dane to a schnauzer. I have also walked two dogs at once.
“Awesome sitter!! Will book again and recommend to anyone looking for a sitter. She is basically a pet whisperer, our kitten loved her from the moment he met her. She kept us updated throughout and sent pictures.”

About: What sets me apart is that I’m a pet owner myself and understand how much our pets mean to us. I have two dogs of my own, so I know firsthand that pets are family and deserve to feel safe, loved, and comfortable when their owners are away. I have experience caring for dogs with different personalities, energy levels, and routines. I’m comfortable with everything from energetic playtime and walks to giving senior dogs extra patience, attention, and care. I’m also happy to follow feeding schedules, potty routines, medication instructions, and any special instructions your pet may need. I’m dependable, patient, attentive, and genuinely love spending time with animals. My goal is to care for your pets the same way I would want someone to care for mine—with lots of love, attention, and plenty of belly rubs! 🐾❤️ I currently work part-time, which gives me plenty of flexibility to spend quality time with your pets. I’m available for boarding on weekends and can provide care on weekdays after 6 PM. I’m happy to work around your pet’s normal routine and make sure they receive plenty of attention, playtime, walks, and companionship while you’re away. I’m very detail-oriented and take pride in keeping a clean, safe, and comfortable environment. I treat every pet and home with the same care and respect I would want for my own. I have two dogs of my own, so I understand how important it is to trust someone with your furry family members. I’ll follow your instructions closely, keep your pet’s routine as consistent as possible, and make sure they receive plenty of love, attention, and supervision.

About: I’ve been caring for dogs since I was around 13, from pet sitting for neighbors, friends and family to working professionally in dog daycare and boarding facilities. I have experience with dogs of all ages and sizes, including puppies and senior dogs. I’m comfortable giving medications, following prescription diets and special feeding instructions, and I also have experience giving insulin injections to diabetic dogs. My professional experience has also included bathing, daycare/boarding care and transporting pets. I have three dogs of my own, including my 11-year-old husky mix and two young dachshunds, so I’m very comfortable with everything from puppy energy to senior care. I currently have a very flexible schedule, which gives me plenty of time for pet care throughout the week. I’m available for walks, drop-in visits and other pet care during weekdays and weekends. I’m happy to work with your pet’s normal routine as much as possible, whether that means early potty breaks, meal times, medications or just some extra playtime and attention. I treat every pet like I would want someone to treat my own. I pay close attention to feeding instructions, medications, potty schedules and each pet’s individual routine. I have experience with puppies, senior dogs and dogs with special care needs. I’m also very mindful of doors, gates, leashes and surroundings because I know how quickly a curious dog can decide it’s time for an adventure! I’m happy to follow whatever routine and safety rules you have in place in your home.
About: I have been taking care of animals, specifically dogs and cats, since I was around 12 years old. My parish does not have an animal shelter or any service to help with strays so I began to take them in (I was basically fostering them). As I grew up my love for them never stopped growing. I worked at an animal shelter in college. I gained experience working at a grooming/boarding facility, and I also have had a little bit of experience in a vet’s office as a tech. I currently have 5 dogs of my own ranging in sizes XXL (100lbs)-XS (8lbs). They are like my children to me! My boyfriend and I also have 7 chickens and plan to hatch more soon. We also feed all the strays cats around our house and will never hesitate to help any animal in need. My main focus will be on dog walking and check in visits, as well as overnight stays. I would be happy to provide a bath and brushing, toe nail clipping, and anything else needed! Spending my days with animals seems to best way to do it to me. I can walk dogs any day of the week! My times available for walking are 6:00am-5:00pm. I am available to go check in on them any day as well. My availability for overnight stays is the same, reach out to me any day of the week! While your pet is in my home they will be my main focus and be with me basically 24/7! If they are comfortable with car rides they can come with me on any errands I need to do. I can also come to your home and watch your fur baby! I will follow any schedule you give me for them and try to figure out the best way to cater to their needs. Whether that be laying on the couch watching TV, taking a walk around the neighborhood, playing fetch, playing with the water hose, etc! I can provide medication if needed as well and make sure to keep an eye out for anything out of the ordinary in their behavior.
“It’s always a pleasure doing business with Kaitlyn! She consistently goes above and beyond during her drop-in visits, and I truly appreciate the peace of mind she gives me knowing my pets are so well cared for. I’ll definitely be booking with her again soon. Thank you, Kaitlyn!”

“Caydence did drop-in visits for our cat during three weeks while we were on vacation. She was great about sending updates and pictures and answering my questions. She was super prompt in responding. Our cat looked well-fed and cared for when we returned…litter cleaned, no odors, etc. From the pics, I could tell our cat felt safe with her. I would definitely recommend Caydence, and use her for future pet care needs.”

About: I have cared for dogs of all sizes and breeds since I can remember. I grew up with at least 3-4 dogs in my household at all times, volunteered at the local animal shelter to help take care of the overflow of dogs, fostered a litter of puppies, and of course the occasional dog sitting for a neighbor or family friend. I am currently working 2 part time jobs at the moment, but they usually include short days and hours. I am mostly available from mid afternoon to nighttime on any given day, especially weekends! Schedule is subject to change weekly. I have a big kennel in my home if it’s ever needed. I also have plenty of toys, treats, and other equipment like poop bags, leashes, or harnesses.

I’m experienced with both dogs and cats of different personalities, ages, and energy levels — from playful puppies and kittens to older pets that need extra patience and gentle care. I treat every pet like they’re my own, giving them attention, affection, playtime, and a calm environment so they feel secure and happy. I want pet owners to have peace of mind knowing their babies are in caring, reliable hands. I’m currently working part time so I would have plenty of time for your loved ones. I’m available Monday-Sunday Mornings at 8am to 12pm . Evenings 6:30 to 8pm. I’m able to provide pets with a comfortable indoor space in my spare bedroom, giving them a calm and safe environment while in my care. Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
