About: I have a Wildlife Biology degree as well as having previous veterinary clinic experience working with all animals. I have had many different types of animals growing up and currently care for a five-year-old, 80 lbs black lab, who is full of energy and love everyone and everything. Taking care of my fur baby when I’m not at work is of great importance to me. Her happiness will always fit into my schedule no matter how busy I get. Make sure they are fed and have access to continuous amounts of water. Always have some fun time with some toys and walks. Will not leave them until they are satisfied and happy.

About: I have taken care of various animals since I was a young girl. I was born and raised on a dairy farm in upstate NY where I have helped train and raised many different kinds of animals including horses, cows, dogs, pigs, bunnies, cats, goats, and more. Neighbors friends family have all relied on me to feed bathe and walk their most precious animals without any problems. I am a stay at home mom & and care for animals as my full time job. I spend most of my time at home other than going to the store or my kids games for school. I am able to give your fur baby the best care possible to ensure they are appropriately cared for and loved as they should be through out their stay at my home. My first priority is keeping your fury friend safe and then they will be also be happy. I want your pet to feel at home when they are at my house. Depending on the service you request and the need for your specific animal this will vary. Each animal will have it's own individualized plan agreed upon with the animals owner.

About: I’ve always had the biggest heart for animals! I was an animal science major in high school and spent much time volunteering at doggy daycares. In college I studied basic canine care and training where I got more experience and knowledge in training different types of dogs. I currently have a couple of pups that I gain more experience from everyday! 🥰 Currently in between employments and looking for something to keep me occupied that would benefit others as well. So I’ll be available anytime that would be convenient for you! I have decent space for my pups and have my own precautions. I will prioritize the safety and wellbeing of your fur baby as if they're my own, so I assure you that I will follow any and all instructions given to me by you.

About: i’m going into my second year of college pursuing a degree in science and mathematics. my goal is to have a career in wildlife rehabilitation or veterinary care. i also have experience within EMS & firefighting as i’ve been a volunteer since 16. i’ve always loved animals of any kind and have been in aw by my own pets. i have 2 cats and 2 dogs, but currently live with only my senior cat (i brought her along with me for college). shes very specific but i make sure to keep up on her needs and do whatever i can for my baby. i live in a smaller sized apartment so I don’t currently have my dogs living with me, but since being away i miss being around them. soon i will be an intern at a zoo for animal care so i’m really looking forward to this opportunity! i love looking after family and friends pets, everytime I just feel as joyous as can be. I would love to start taking care of more pets within my community and gain more experience! __________________________________________ little side note: i allow my pets on my bed and couch with me all the time, just for some reason I wasn’t sure how to edit that off my profile lol so just know your pet is more than welcome 👌 i’m currently on summer break working a part time job, but have a flexible schedule. i like to go outside to parks, find good places to hike, and staying active. with bookings i will make sure to keep myself available or work with your schedule, whether that be for mornings, evenings, or even overnight. i’m also available the weekends. once school begins i will still be able to remain flexible. my senior cat sofia is specific with her needs, whether that’s the food she eats, the places she sleeps, or the litter i get. whatever her needs may be, whether she likes her hard food or gets sick of and only wants wet food, i make sure to listen. when she’s having a stomach ache or under the weather, i’m alerted and get her the best care i can provide. when it comes to family or friends animals like their dogs i like to spend a lot of time with them outside, taking them to parks, and even to hike depending on the kind of dog and their energy level. for clients i’ll ensure to keep them updated on their pets and if their were special instructions on how they want their pet to be treated i will do my best to make sure they are safe and well cared for.

About: With 6 years of dedicated experience in pet care, I provide a comprehensive and compassionate service tailored to the unique needs of each animal. My expertise extends beyond basic care to include specialized skills such as positive reinforcement-based puppy training, helping to establish good habits from an early age. I also have a deep understanding of senior dog care, including administering medication, providing gentle exercise, and creating a comfortable, low-stress environment. I have experience managing a variety of medical conditions, ensuring your furry family member is safe and well-cared for at all times. My goal is to be a trusted partner in your pet's health and happiness, providing peace of mind while you're away. Each morning starts with feeding, watering, and a potty break for the pets in my care. This is followed by a morning walk or playtime to get their energy out and start the day on a positive note. Throughout the day, I follow individual schedules, which might include specific feeding times for puppies or senior dogs, medication administration, or scheduled walks and potty breaks. The afternoon often includes another round of playtime or enrichment activities, such as puzzle feeders or training sessions, to keep their minds engaged. Evenings are typically quieter, with a final feeding and potty break before a relaxing wind-down. My weekly routine involves a bit more planning. I coordinate with pet owners to schedule walks, check-ins, or overnight stays. I also use this time to restock on supplies and keep detailed records of each pet's behavior, eating habits, and health. If a pet is in my care for an extended period, I might schedule a grooming appointment to ensure they're in top shape. My schedule is built around the needs of the pet, ensuring they receive consistent, loving care and that their owners have peace of mind. Caring for pets, whether on my own or a client's, requires a responsible and attentive approach to ensure their well-being. A fundamental aspect is providing a consistent routine, including scheduled feeding times with high-quality, species-appropriate food and fresh water that is always accessible. Regular exercise is crucial for both physical and mental health; this can range from daily walks for dogs to interactive playtime. Environmental enrichment, such as toys, scratching posts, and comfortable bedding, helps prevent boredom and destructive behaviors. It's also vital to maintain a clean and safe living space by regularly cleaning food and water bowls, litter boxes, and bedding. Beyond daily care, a thorough pet care plan includes regular grooming, such as brushing and nail trims, and staying up-to-date on veterinary care, including vaccinations and preventative treatments for fleas, ticks, and worms. For client homes, clear communication is paramount. It is important for me to obtain detailed instructions regarding the pet's specific needs, routines, medications, and any behavioral quirks, as well as emergency contact information. This holistic approach, combining routine care with attention to individual needs and a focus on safety and hygiene, ensures a happy and healthy life for any pet under my care.

I appreciated his very thoughtful observation of my dog’s body language, behavior, and preference cues - Elliot can take a moment to warm up to new friends and lives to play with his flirt stick. I would, without reservation, recommend Dennis as your walker, play date companion, and house sitter.”

About: I have always been a dog lover & a cat lover! I have had dogs & cats since a child growing up.Bunnies, birds, fish, a ferret, I have adopted my dogs & cats and saved a dog, kittens and cats. My baby that I have now is my beautiful black lab named Princess Leah! Princess Leah makes me very happy everyday! I have a handsome, loving, very sweet, talkative cat named Shadow Bear who I adopted. Shadow Bear is my world too! I know I can make your dog, cat or animal happy too! I love the animal for who it is! I look at all animals needs and wants all very differently because not one has the same. We all have feelings and even our fury friends do! I will provide whatever it takes for your fur baby to be happy, comfortable and in a healthy environment. I have been pet sitting, dog walking, exercising, training, keeping your fur baby active, doing therapy with their back legs, joints and mobility, administering medicine, shots, clipped nails, cleaned ears, bathed, brushing, feeding, constantly changing water, keep hydrated, pampering and just loving your animal like he or she needs to be. I took some classes and this one I took at my vet which I was amazed because they taught me how to drain the adrenaline glands and some dogs have a severe issue with that quite often. My dog does! There are classes that you can go in and they will take the time and show you for some things. I like to to participate in these classes so I have knowledge when it comes time to if anything happens. I started dog walking at 12 years old. A long with other jobs of course throughout life. I have been pet sitting for almost 15 years. I am a full time pet sitter with all of your needs and wants for your fur baby as if your fur baby was my own! You see...... I am with my baby almost all day everyday and as you can tell this is my life. Princess Leah has been my life and is my life! Shadow Bear is too! One more thing! I love to walk, I am very cheerful and I love to talk up a storm. I always talk to my Princess Leah & Shadow Bear. I love all animals! I love people too, but let’s be honest here, not as much as my fur babies! I do not even call my dog a dog. She means that much to me! I live in a rural area and I have some land, I have my own house, I have a huge house, lots of windows, my house is cheerful, I am cheerful, I cook for my fur baby friends, Your baby will not only be loved, but cared for, well taken care of, but part of my family! I love to walk! I also love to have fun and enjoy life! Walking your angel is a joy to me!. Not only will it be their exercise, but enjoyment for your loved one! I do house sitting and cleaning too. Please call me. I am a very honest, loving, compassionate, caring person who works well with people too! I love my animals! I will board your fur babies while you are at work and I also will work around any last minute plans. I also do doggy day care, Check-in’s, Walks, Activities and more! Just drop me a message on here! Thanks! 😊 Incentives: *If you have two animals I will give you a discount on the second animal each time you board with me. If you have one animal and your fur baby is staying two weeks or longer with me I will give you a day free. For my Doggy Day Care Services if you board two animals with me on a regular basis I will give you a discount and for you boarding one animal with me for my Doggy Day Care Services I will give you a discount too. I love what I do! I love being around animals! I do this full time as my job even though it is more like a passion than a job to me. I stay at people’s houses. I travel and do pet sitting, I stay over night a lot. The most was a week that I worked for with a client and stayed at their house the whole time. I will also do day sitting or check-ins but mostly overnight and pet sitting during the day at my clients homes. Traveling is a lot and a lot of people like when you stay at their homes with their animals and care for them. The animals are safe and feel comfortable in their own environment. I make sure that all my fur babies are cared for, loved, given the attention that they need and all their needs are met. I am a traveling pet sitter now. I use to board animals in my home until I sold my house just recently. Now, I travel to my clients homes. I mostly stay overnight and for more than one day because my clients go away on vacation. I do many services for my clients. I walk your animal, feed your animal whether if it’s can food, dry food or home made food which I have made home made food for my fur babies before and still do. I administer medication to animals, groom them, brush, bathe, keep them active and help them with their mobility, Play, do fun activities with my fur babies, train, keep them busy and entertained and plenty more. I make sure your animal is well cared for, loved like he or she was my own, given the attention it needs, Be happy and even more. I go over and beyond for my fur babies and each and everyone always feels safe, comfortable, loved, happy and etc….. I have a lot of clients and some of them I care for during the Summer when they go away a lot and some of my clients I care for during the week and in wknds. I am very easy to work with because I am a good person. Good people work with good people. All my clients know how caring I am and feel good about leaving their loved ones with me.

FAQs for Dog Walking - Steuben

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Steuben. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking bookings, your dog walker can send a Rover Card with details about your dog’s walk. Rover Cards require at least one photo and may include a map of the walking route , the total walk time and distance, and any pee or poop breaks recorded by the walker.

The route map lets you review where your dog was walked in Steuben after the booking. It is not live GPS tracking.

Have specific details you would like included? Message your dog walker in the app before the walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your walker interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and walker for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .

walkers on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement walker.
