About: I’ve raised, rescued, fostered, and even foster-failed many dogs in my adulthood. I’m a passionate pet lover! Experienced in puppy training, senior support, & special-needs. I have 6 animals of my own & it would be pawesome to tend to yours. I’m currently a stay at home dog mom! I quit my career early 2025 to care for my two special-needs senior dogs. Unfortunately, they both recently passed within weeks of one another. I now have idle time that provides me with a flexible schedule to fit you and your furbaby’s needs. I currently have 4 dogs, 1 cat, & a critter! All rescues! 2 are dachshunds which are both blind seniors. The other 2 are both medium sized and both are very friendly. My cat Loco is definitely used to dogs and the chaos they can sometimes bring in the house! We have dog beds throughout the house and we even customized our mudroom when we renovated, equipped with their crates and a dog wash station!
About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was a child! From growing up with them, to helping friends and family, to fostering for shelters and rescues! I work full time, but do have allotted time to run home to let pets out/feed! My boyfriend is also a huge help to filling any gaps! I ensure all pets receive the best care! From food choice (if not provided), to toys, to play time w/ my pups (if wanted)! I provide a safe but fun environment!
“Dustin was absolutely amazing! He took such great care of Juno. I didn’t worry one second about her. He kept me informed throughout her stay, let her run and play, and pampered her better than I do! I can’t recommend Dustin for pet sitting and boarding highly enough.”

About: I will take great care of your pup! I have a fenced in backyard and a safe neighborhood for walks, allowing your pup to have fun while she/he is missing you! I work from home, allowing me the flexibility to let your pup out for regular potty breaks and go on walks. I’m available for daily pet sitting or overnight pet sitting. We have a fenced in backyard and safe neighborhood for walks. My husband and I have a 4 year-old pup named Tag who loves other dogs— especially if they like to chase him! I can easily crate your dog if needed.
About: We love dogs! But right now with 7 kids in the throws of school and all the extracurriculars, it’s just not the right time for us to have our own furry family member, so let us love on yours! My husband and I each had dogs growing up and we had a family dog until he passed away a few years ago. We have been boarding, walking, and doing drop-ins since that time. From puppies to senior dogs, we can take care of them all. I am a stay-at-home mom who homeschools my 7 children, so we’re home the majority of the time and will be able to fit in your dog’s regular schedule into our every day routine. When pets stay at our house we do our best to keep the same schedule and expectations the dogs have come to know at their homes. I enjoy going for walks at the park and visiting the dog park with dogs who are accustomed to it. We do not have a fenced yard, so I make sure each pet gets adequate exercise each day on a leash. When I come to your home, I will follow your directions exactly as you desire and provide pictures and GPS “walking time cards” via Rover so you can be assured your pet is receiving the high quality care you paid for!
“Melissa was fantastic with Chardonnay!! Char is a little timid and is very prone to anxiety! Melissa, Timber and Bella made her feel comfortable and completely at ease. The picture updates were amazing and set us at ease. If you want someone to love on your fur baby, Melissa is the girl for you. Will definitely be using her again, we even forgot to grab our water bowl & has been amazing at trying to get it back to us, even if we keep forgetting ??♀️?”

“Emily was wonderful with our deaf pup Cooper. He can be very skittish around new people but she let him take his time warming up and they had a great weekend. We received many pictures and messages updating us about him. They have a wonderful backyard that he was able to play in. He even got to go on a walk around the neighborhood which made us so happy! All in all, we were overjoyed with how great Emily was. We will definitely use her again and recommend her to anyone.”

“Meredith is awesome. She makes you feel comfortable as if you were leaving your babies with a friend. She messaged me constantly and sent photos of my cat while I was in a business trip. She’s really down to earth as well.”

About: I’m 36 years old and have had dogs and cats my whole life. I’ve had both small and large breed dogs, puppy to senior. I’m an animal lover. I will take very good care of your fur baby. I clean houses part time but still have plenty of time to care for your pets. I can board, walk, and do drop ins and doggy day care weekdays and weekends. My schedule is flexible. My yard is not fenced in but I can take your pet outside to play on leash or without leash if they don’t run off. I can watch in your home or mine . I have 3 kids who will love your fur baby just as much as you do.
“The best sitter ever!! They sent pics and updates frequently and were super friendly. Their space is very dog friendly and they took great care of my pup. I will definitely use Arthur’s dog sitting services again in the future!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Steele home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Steele.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Steele sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
