About: I would LOVE to care for your pets and make sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away! ☺️ I welcome cats and other small pets for overnight stays in my home, offer doggy day care, and am available for dog walks and drop-in visits. I’m also open to caring for a wider variety of animals during drop-ins, including bunnies, fish, chickens, goats, horses, and other animals with straightforward care needs. My husband and I live on 20 acres of land with our sweet dog Miso, our loving cat Yoshi, and our ten chickens. I’m currently on a corporate work break, so I have lots of flexibility throughout the day to give your pet plenty of attention, and my husband also works from home. I have had a heart for animals my entire life and have cared for all kinds of pets, including cats, dogs, fish, ducks, and chickens. I truly enjoy getting to know each animal’s unique personality and making sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable. I have experience caring for friends’ and neighbors’ pets, as well as watching over homes, and I always treat every pet and property with the same respect and care I would want for my own. I’m reliable, attentive, and a great communicator, and I love sending photo updates so you can feel connected and reassured while you’re away. Whether your pet loves playtime, walks, cuddles, exploring, or simply having a calm place to relax, I’m happy to follow their routine and meet their individual needs. For pets staying with me, I offer a safe, clean, and comfortable home environment where they can feel cared for like part of the family. I’d be so happy to help give your pet a loving, safe, and stress-free experience! I am currently taking a corporate career break so my schedule is flexible to spend all day engaging with pet(s)! For boarding and doggy day care my husband will also be able to engage with your pet(s) all day as he works from home. My home is a safe, clean, and comfortable place for pets to relax and feel cared for. I’m happy to follow your pet’s normal routine, including feeding instructions, potty breaks, playtime, quiet time, or any special rules that help them feel secure. I treat every pet like family and make safety, comfort, and communication my top priorities.
“Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of our elderly dog for the day. Your kindness and attention gave us real peace of mind, and we would happily recommend you to anyone looking for a caring and dependable pet sitter.”

“During my visit to Coeur 'd Alene, we had some activities planned that were not suitable for dogs. I turned to Rover after reading some troubling reviews on the local pet resorts. And I could not be happier that I went this route! After reading several profiles and reviews, I found Carolyn and she was quick to respond to my last minute request, literally the night before we needed a sitter. After sharing a little information back and forth, she agreed to take our girl Shelby for the day. I can't express enough how very blessed and fortunate I was to have found Carolyn. Upon meeting her, and dropping off Shelby the next morning, I felt an instant connection, and she was gracious in sending me updates and pics throughout the day to provide assurance that Shelby was doing fine! We continued to use Carolyn's services for several more days, and each morning when we arrived, Shelby was excited to see her, and to go play with the other dogs in her care. Carolyn provided a good balance of outdoor play and indoor rest to ensure that the dogs didn't get too overheated. She was incredibly flexible and accommodating with drop off and pickup times as well. I will close with saying that Carolyn is an absolute sweetheart, and that I gained a new friend in Coeur 'd Alene! I look forward to using her services when visiting the area again. She will take care of your pet as if it were her own.”

“Our dog loved his day at this family’s home! They checked in with us throughout the day unprompted and our dog looked very happy and relaxed! Would recommend to anyone!”

“Osa had such a good time, she came back home so tired. Kelly and her kids played with my dog and she sent pictures of Osa playing with them, which I loved that she kept me updated in her fun. Recommend 100%!! Definitely will be going back!!”

“Absolutely wonderful! We are so thankful for Jessica this week and Fury cannot wait to come back! Exceptional service for our little man, she went above and beyond as he is still learning potty training, walking on the leash, etc. He played hard, got to socialize and meet new friends. We loved our rover cards getting to see what he did for the day! Thank you so much, we really appreciate knowing he is in such good hands!”

“Luna had such a great visit! Ashley’s Labradoodle and Luna the Goldendoodle hit it off in their Huge backyard. Perfect. Ashley is extremely attentive and an easygoing. Will definitely be back.”

About: We have lots of experience with dogs and cats from youngsters, to active, to frail seniors. Pet friendly home with a clean and comfortable fenced yard. My husband and I are semi-retired, active family. At home most every day. We play in the backyard and take walks in our peaceful neighborhood. We have a lovely private fenced backyard. We have room for your crate or kennel and we also have a pet play pen if needed.
“First time using app based on local recommendation. Traveling with an extended stay. Had a meet and greet with Jackie before doggie day care to settle my nerves. Warm and friendly and bonded with Ranger immediately. Met her at house next day for drop off and she was very attentive asking questions about allergies and concerns. Felt very comfortable and at ease with leaving Ranger there for a “staycation”. He settled in quickly and Jackie kept me updated with text and pics and how he was doing throughout the day. The pics say it all. Highly recommended and hope we have another opportunity in the future.”

“Hannah takes my big ole GSD twice a week. She always sends me photos and he is always fulfilled when he comes home. She feeds him in the evening since I work late :) Highly recommend!!”

About: I discovered my love for animals when my mom rescued a Shiba Inu shortly after my dad died. Since then, I've made every effort to learn as much as I can about cats and dogs, including going to professional grooming school and I'm currently working on becoming a certified dog trainer. Most of my experience with cats has come from my sister and her roommate, but I love cats just as much as I love dogs I do have another part time job, but scheduling is flexible so I'll have plenty of time in the day to check on your buddy! I'm very conscious of their safety and always use a leash, always make sure fenced areas are secure, and that there's no toxic plants around them. My own have a history of bolting/running away, so these things have become 2nd nature for me.
“Brutus seemed very happy and taken care of during and after his stay with Sherin. She was very accommodating and worked us in last minute. Thanks again for taking good care of him!”

About: I've worked with many breeds of dogs. Mostly small to mid-size dogs with a variety of traits. Mostly working dogs namely Blue Heelers & Huskys. I tend to live an active lifestyle and that means hiking/walking/and lots of exercise. Rest assured both me and your pooch will be getting a good workout! In the past I've facilitated overnight lodging for dogs, and temporary stays of up to a few days. Be noted I do not currently have a large open or fenced in yard. I work with neighbors and friends pets on quite a regular basis! I regularly feed, train, walk & care for pets when away or on business! I work from home so this environment provides a perfect spot for pets to be nurtured & played with consistently! I always check prior to booking any special exercise and or dietary needs of your pet. Ensuring door remain locked when inside and timer's are set for when pets receive food upon client preference. Safety is of the upmost priority, so I will discuss a full plan and schedule so you know where you pup is and his progress while away. I will send regular check in photos to provide accountability for myself and the clients well being.
About: Always had a dog in the home growing up. Trained puppies and watched all of my neighbors dogs for them. Dogs have always loved me! I am self-employed so my schedule can be as flexible as needed to give your pet the time and attention needed. Morning, midday, and nights I can be available. I stay very aware of pets staying safe in my care. My home is pet friendly, it is a smaller apartment space, but plenty of open room for playing and staying active.

About: I’ve had 2 shihtzus since they were 8 weeks old. Have lost both within the last 2 years at ages 15 and 17. Me and hubby enjoyed them and we miss them terribly. I love strolls around the block and playtime. Serious lap time and undivided attention is awaiting your special fur baby, as I am retired and at home full time. Each year I go to Utah to dog sit for my middle son for 2 weeks while they vacation. They’ve had a Rottweiler, Berniedoodle and Yorkies. The big guys loved TAKING ME on daily walks around their local park. I always took my 2 shihtzus swimming every time we went boating. Perfect day in my opinion!!! I am retired and available most of the time. Short trips to the grocery store or other errands are basically the only time I leave. I have a fenced yard and plenty of room inside and outside. Special diets or medications are not a problem. I liked to wash my dogs faces after mealtimes. They can sleep in my bed, or not. Your preference.

About: Hello! 👋 I’m new to Rover but not to dog sitting! Everyone knows me as the friend who is obsessed with dogs, and I’m so excited to hang out with more pups! 😊 I have 2 labs of my own who absolutely love having furry friends around! They’re playful and social, but they’re also great at matching the energy and personality of other dogs—whether your pup wants to run and play or prefers to relax. I work from home, so your dog will have plenty of company, attention, and supervision throughout the day rather than being left alone for long periods. I have experience caring for senior dogs, puppies, high energy dogs, dogs with separation anxiety, etc. I understand that every dog has their own needs, routine, and personality. I’m happy to provide walks, playtime, drop-in visits, and lots of love and attention while you’re away. Because I have dogs of my own, your pup must be comfortable and friendly around other dogs for boarding or day care. I am happy to provide drop in visits and/or walks for those “only child” type dogs 😉 feel free to message me anytime! Working from home, the dogs will never be left alone for long periods of time. I usually go for walks in the morning and at lunch and would be happy to take your pup! I have a larger 6 ft fenced yard and a doggy door if your pup is trained, they can come and go as they please! We provide plenty of toys and playtime, but I can also give them a good place to rest in a crate or even a dog bed next to me in my office 😊

“Teri did an exceptional job watching our dog, Rocket, for the day. She helped Rocket to feel comfortable with her home and backyard before slowly introducing her dogs. Once they were introduced they quickly became friends and had a great time playing together. Teri made sure to provide us with frequent pictures and updates, which gave us peace of mind knowing that our dog was being well taken care of. Her communication with us was always professional and we are happy to have chosen her to watch our dog and will definitely choose her in the future when we are in the area.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Springston commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ID ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
Yes, you can find sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. Many sitters can respond to messages in under an hour.
To find the fastest available match, message multiple sitters with a recent "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
