“Kayla was great! Communication was awesome, she was always so quick to respond! She kept me so updated on my boys, and I felt very confident having her there with them! This was our first time ever leaving our dogs, so I was a nervous wreck, and Kayla quickly made me feel comfortable and I was able to actually enjoy my time away from home! I will absolutely be booking again when I'm away again. ❤️”

About: With 25 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs, I bring a lifetime of animal care knowledge to every walk, visit, and stay. I've been a devoted dog owner for over two decades, giving me a deep understanding of canine behavior, body language, and the little things that make dogs feel safe and comfortable in new environments. My experience goes beyond my own pets. I spent a year as an office manager at a veterinarian practice, where I worked closely with veterinary staff, observed a wide range of health and behavioral issues, and learned to recognize signs of illness, discomfort, or distress in animals, knowledge I carry into every pet I care for. I am also a volunteer at the Erie Humane Society, working directly with dogs of all ages, temperaments, and backgrounds, including animals who needed extra patience, socialization, or a calm, confident handler. Rounding out my experience, I currently work part-time at a doggy daycare, managing groups of dogs throughout the day, monitoring play styles, catching early signs of stress or conflict, and keeping everyone safe and happy. Whether it's a quick walk around the block, a longer outing, or overnight house sitting, I treat every dog in my care like my own, with patience, attentiveness, and genuine love for the job. I'm comfortable with dogs of all sizes, energy levels, and personalities, and I understand that every pet has their own routine and needs. Your dog's safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priority. I'd love to help care for your best friend! My part-time job gives me a flexible schedule with plenty of availability for walks, visits, and overnight stays, so your pet gets consistent, unhurried care. When I care for pets in your home, I treat your space with the same respect and care as I do your pet. I follow your pet's established routine as closely as possible. Feeding schedules, walk times, playtime, and any special habits or quirks that make them feel comfortable and secure. I take time to learn where things are kept (food, leashes, medications, cleaning supplies) so there's no scrambling or guesswork during my visits. Your home stays exactly as you left it: doors locked, lights as needed, mail and packages brought in, and any small tasks (like watering plants or rotating lights) handled if requested. I'm attentive to details like making sure gates and doors are secure, keeping an eye out for anything unusual, and treating your home like it's my own while you're away. Throughout my visits or stay, I send regular updates with photos so you can see your pet is happy, fed, and cared for, giving you peace of mind no matter where you are. Whether it's a quick drop-in visit or an overnight stay, my goal is always the same: your pet feels safe and loved, and you come home to everything just as it should be.
“Caitlin was absolutely amazing with Ellie and Eva. She provided updates, took them on walks and adventures, and I had no qualms about her staying in my house while I was three time zones away. She also took great care of my place and when I returned it looked like no one had even stayed there. I can't recommend her highly enough! I will definitely be using her again when I travel.”

“Emily was so fun to work with and myself and pets felt comfortable with her immediately! What a great feeling to not worry about a thing! She is an excellent communicator and keeps you in the know of the their days together with texts and photos. I will definitely be re-booking with her!!!”

“Kristen did great caring for our 2 dogs- one who has epilepsy and requires oral medications. She was willing to drive to us to house sit even though we are a bit of a distance from her.”

About: As an outdoorsy animal lover with years of experience, I am able to keep up with high energy and dogs of all sizes! I love to spend my free time with my 6 yr old German Shepherd by going on walks, hikes, and all kinds of adventures. I am currently on summer break from college with little to no commitment, so I have a very open schedule. I am open for mornings, afternoons, and evenings during weekdays and most weekends. I have large fenced-in backyard and a separate fenced-in play area intended for running laps with my dog. My German Shepherd is very friendly and loves to play with others.
About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and I have years of hands on experience caring for pets of all ages, personalities, and needs, including seniors, anxious pets, and animals with disabilities or medical conditions. Have a pet other than a dog or cat? Send me a message! Chances are, I have experience with them. I’ve also volunteered at a wildlife rescue caring for a wide variety of wildlife. I’m experienced with oral medications, insulin injections, and subcutaneous fluids, and I have a disabled cat of my own. I’ll take the time to get to know your pet and help them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I’m dependable, detail oriented, and happy to follow your pet’s routine closely. I’ll also tidy up after your pets, sweep or vacuum as needed, bring in mail, put out the trash, and even care for your houseplants! Looking for someone who will care for your pets and home like they’re my own? Send me a message. I’d love to meet them! I don’t work a full time job, so I have a very flexible schedule. I’m also a homebody, so I don’t have a busy schedule either. I try to give your pets the calmest and happiest experience while you’re not home. My goal is to help them forget you’re gone, by following the same routine they are used to and giving them all the love, attention and playtime they need. I’m also judgement free and will follow your house rules, religious or otherwise. I will always treat your pets and home with respect.

“Krista is amazing with the animals. Send lots of pictures and updates and is a great house sitter. Would absolutely recommend to anyone needing extra love and care to pets when they are away from home.”

“Amber is amazing!!! She treated our fur-babies with the most love while we were away! We got picture updates as check ins, and she took tremendous care of our home! 100/10 would book again!!”

About: I have had pets for all of my life and have gained a wealth of experience along the way. For several years I worked at a pet boarding and grooming facility where I obtained the knowledge of light grooming, and administering medications such as insulin. During my time working at this facility I also learned how to handle pets that may be aggressive wether it was caused by food, toys, or anxiety. I currently have four dogs and two cats who I love dearly. I have also had the joy of taking care of many animals all the way from puppy/kitten hood all the way to the rainbow bridge. I know how hard it can be to find someone you can trust to care for your fuzzy family member, but I hope you can find that with me. If you have any questions please ask me and I will be happy to answer I am currently working as a shipping manager for a small factory but I would like to make caring for pets my full time job. I have an invisible fence with one and a half acres of area to roam. I have pet stairs leading to those hard to reach areas (like the couch or bed) for small or senior pets. I also have a cart to pull behind my bike if there are any pets that aren't so active but like fresh air. My cats enjoy the luxury of having their own bedroom so they can have peace from the dogs when needed. And of course I have a plethora of toys and treats. I am willing to make accommodations for special needs pets.
About: Pets are family, and they deserve to be treated like family. I have doggy sat for a family friend for 3yrs, Zoe, and Zarley. They go out 4 to 5 times a day, they get treats for going boo boo outside. We run around the apartment and play as much as my bones will let me. I am able to brush the furbabies every day, and multiple times a day if needed. I do talk to them like they can answer me…..😂😂. Animals understand more than we think they do. I love animals so much. I wish I could get one for me. But at this time, I am unable to afford one. I will not get any animal that I know I can’t pay for what they need. I was working up until 09/2025. I got hurt at work, and I’m unable to return. I am available 24/7 now. I have plenty of time to give ALL of my time to furbabies now. I have a full time job working midnights. I get off at 7am, but don’t usually go to sleep till around 10am. I do not work Friday nights. My part time job is just Mon., we’d., and Fri, from 9am to 1pm. I have every other weekend off. I always put fur babies first in my home. I play with them as often as I can. They are allowed on the furniture and bed. No matter what I am doing, I will stop to take them out, or play with them. I DO NOT give for babies ppl food, their little digestive system mite not be able to handle it. If there is something extra that you say they need, and you don’t have, I will buy it for them. I remove any and everything off the floors, so they cannot get in it. If there is a special diet that they have, I will just need written instructions on how to prepare it.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of October 2026, there are 113 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Spring. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Spring walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Spring maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
<b>Tip:</b> Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Spring choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
